Yes, that's more like it. :D

Here's a review of the comics I recently stumbled across...

Both presenters were spot on. A Danger Girl film needs to happen, it would be a welcome dose of good old fashioned fun.
I need to add those 5" figures to my DG collection. I have the larger 12" ones by Dragon Toys.

    Very interesting!!

I'm a HUGE, like double-D huge fan of Danger Girl. :D I think I'm coming pretty close to having collected all of them, and that's a pretty cool thing.

We need a DG movie. There's no way beyond this fact. ;-) "Indiana Jones in a mini-skirt"? You got it! :)

The bible of any DG fan has to be the awesome ltd ed hardback collection of the original series that, in a slipcase, comes with the J. Scott Campbell sketchbook.

And an introduction by Bruce Campbell! Don't forget the introduction. I always read that again. Yes, I've read the hardback three times now. But I'm also into the latest series. DG is top priority for me. Always. :)

re; "City of the Living Dead" -

Maybe I'll buy it; it's produced by Arrow Studios. I was very impressed with their DVD of "Zombie Flesh Eaters". One can tell real care was made in producing the DVD. Even had a collectors book with it!

If only the Bond's would get that kind of love.

I don't know if all of Arrow's DVD's come with the collectors booklet (and a poster), but the ones I have did, COTD included. Though to be fair, the Bond Ultimate Editions did come with booklets, but they were very slim, compared to the ones have Arrow published.

The last Bond collection I was impressed with, was the Special Edition DVD's, the ones with the "making of" featurettes on them. I have not bought any Blu-Ray, so I'm a bit behind the times.

I just found out that Nicholas Brendon, (Xander from Buffy) was in Children of the Corn III. He played baseball with his shirt off, apparently, and may have had a line.
  • My girlfriend is so cool- she painted my Michael Myers mask for me! Before it was just plain old white

There are quality horror flicks that just are not getting any wide distribution and very limited theatrical release:
    The Canal
    Honeymoon
    Jessabelle
    I mean WTF?

They might get a release at next years FrightFest (films to be announced in January), or they may just be dumped on DVD. American Mary didn't get a wide theatrical release (it should have), but it took the 2012 FrightFest by storm when it was released during the festival.

The next Friday The 13th might be set in the 1980's...

Portuguese site Omelete caught up with Platinum Dunes producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form who revealed a shocker about the forthcoming Friday the 13th, which was rumored to be a remake and to be released in 3-D.

“We did a reboot in 2009 and now in 2014 we are focusing on a different story of Jason,” says the rough translation. “This will not be a continuation of the 2009 film nor a remake of the original It’s just a different story.”

But the big news was hiding within the story, where the site claims that were told that “the film will likely take place during the 80′s because the producers want to recover the feel of the first film.”

I’ve always thought that the first film carried a found-footage feel to it, especially since half the movie is told through the eyes of Pamela Voorhees. It’ll be interesting to see what direction is taken, although I relish in the idea that they’re thinking outside of the box. We don’t need another polished, generic slasher. Jason deserves better than that.

David Bruckner, who directed some of The Signal and our V/H/S, is directing.

    One sentance especially, stood out...

“This will not be a continuation of the 2009 film nor a remake of the original It’s just a different story.”

That, to me, sounds like a sequel set in the original timeline.

There are 3 Friday The 13th's coming in 2015:

    February
    March
    November

November is the most likely. If EON can get the next Bond out for November/December release, then Paramount shouldn't have a problem aiming Friday The 13th for a November release.

If it's going to be a sequel, I wonder if it'll take place after Jason Takes Manhatton. But that would set the film in 1989 (or 1995 using <a href="http://www.campblood.net/Timeline/timeline2.html
"<a>this</a> timeline) at the earliest. I doubt Paramount are as concerned about what might have took place between JTM and Jason Goes To Hell, like us fans are, but I can't see where else a sequel could take place before that.
  • I would LOVE that @MajorDSmythe. Make a sequel for the fans!! If people see the movie and get confused they're in the minority.
If it's really a direct sequel to JTM, my god could you imagine how cool it would be if they got Kane Hodder back?!?

They revisited the original timeline, albeit in the present day, with the last TCM film. So this could be a new trend, revisiting past timelines which were closed due to reboots or remakes.

I think Kane Hodder still would take up the Machete if offered. He doesn't come off as bitter on the subject of being replaced (or he's very good at hiding it) in interviews. The Hatchet films prove that Kane could still play a Jason-like character. I've defended Jason Goes To Hell in the past, and will continue to do so, but at the same time, I have always wanted a film to fill that gap.

Still No ‘Friday the 13th’ Script

There’s still no real news regarding the next installment of Friday the 13th.

And as of this moment, there still isn’t even a script.

“Just working on the script still,” Platinum Dunes producer Andrew Form tells Collider. “Hoping to make that movie this year and Brad [Form], I’m gonna confirm that Jason is in the movie.”

So, for those who are still e-mailing and tweeting me daily – YES, Jason Voorhees is in the movie, and no, there’s been no solid progress. This also doesn’t mean it’s time to panic. What it means is that it’s time to chill out and let the process take its course. At least Paramount is actually actively developing this. We should be asking New Line Cinema what the heck is up with Freddy Krueger and his A Nightmare On Elm Street…

David Bruckner (V/H/S, The Signal)is still at the helm of the new F13 with hopes of shooting the movie for its November 13, 2015 date. This is doable if they begin filming this summer.

At least we now have an expected release date, and it's this year. [-O<

I can't believe it's taking so long. Bay can squeeze out a Transformers movie against his own will every three or so years that follows the same formula and banks over one billion dollars. Another Friday or Nightmare can't be too difficult. All we want is more or less the same slasher vibes with perhaps a few neat surprises. I'm a little angry they didn't follow up on that JEH Freddy; I thought the guy made for an interesting Freddy Krueger. And since Robert Englund probably won't play the part anymore, it's either another Freddy or no Freddy at all. I prefer the first option.

New Friday pushed back to 2016:

Not surprising given the lack of movement recently.

The TCM brand is becoming messy. I was staring to worry about the new F13 film, but the TCM films are even more messed up.

So the new TCM film is a prequel of the 2nd remake of the original? The one from 2013 mean. Or is it a remake of the 2006 prequel with no ties to other outings?

I have a feeling these slashers are like Duke Nukem Forever. By the time they have figured out what the current trends are, newer ones are ready to take the stage. Will it be found footage? Let's see if the found footage film is still in vogue. Will it be a reboot? Let's see how well reboots are doing nowadays. Will it be a prequel? Depends on which prequels are successful. ... And I hate this. F13 and TCM are amongst my favourite horror series ever. I'm into the movies, the legacy, the comics, ... I actually hope that Platinum Dunes will get involved again sooner or later. Believe it or not, but IMO Michael Bay did it right, especially with the TCM remake.

I think it's a prequel to the original 1974 film.

So the 2006 film was a prequel of the 2003 film? And this is a prequel to the original 1974 film? More confusing than Inception! :D

I think both TCM's by Platinum Dunes served as something of a prequel. At least they set up "the family" and the circumstances, even if individual characters differ. And none of us are interested in the story of Sally and her brother before the Hooper film. I doubt that any prequel can top the remake and The Beginning though I may be showering both films with a little too much praise here. ;-)

And the 2013 film was a direct sequel to the original, but set in the present day. And then there's the original 3 sequels.

Oh I don't know. I rather liked the remake and it's prequel. Though when it comes to the TCM films, the original is my favourite.
