Does the new Quantum Fragrance for Men mean that we'll see Quantum's return in Bond 24?

Two years until release but Logan has been working on the script for a long time already and Quantum may well be in it - it could have been established in the plot a year ago even. We just don't know.

My first impression is that it would be a little odd for a fragrance to come out named Quantum ... and there were no allusion to Quantum in Bond 24. I wouldn't pick that word out of the Bond vocabulary for a cologne or perfume. Really, the fragrance should have been named: Skyfall, or Provacateur, or Last Rat Standing (ok, maybe not that one ...) ;)

I'm in agreement with your first impression here, @4EverBonded.

It made me chuckle, I'll admit it.

No absolutely not. IMO they killed ever bringing back Quantum with the awfulness that was QOS and the greatness that was Skyfall

Moot point. Whatever you think about QOS, the organization is still there. YOLT was weaker than the previous movies, but Blofeld was still used to great effect in OHMSS.

Reason I say this was Skyfall was a great film and people loved it and to me it was a great redemption movie to make up what was QOS which IMO killed the quantum story

But how did it kill it.? Whether you liked it or not is non sequitur.

My thoughts exactly. The Quantum organisation as a concept is still sound as far as I am concerned, regardless of what people think of QoS as a film; that is surely down to personal taste and is something of a side issue, a red herring if you will. I have no doubt at all that the producers and writers will return to Quantum, just as Peter Hunt returned to SPECTRE after the spoofing of Donald Pleasance as Blofeld in YOLT. It's exactly the same nowadays.

If Logan can find a intresting way to display them and to still keep them in the vain of how they were in QoS then i'm all for it. It shouldn't be put in just for the sake of continuity.
But i would see them being the real antagonists of the Craig-era, just like how SPECTRE were for Connery. And Connerys third film was a one off from SPECTRE...

Yes, I've noted the similarities between Goldfinger and Skyfall in that regard too.

I also think we need to see proper retaliation for the death of Vesper. She committed suicide, but it was because of the blackmail she was the object from Quantum.

Though didn't QoS tie that one up with Bond not killing Yusef and then throwing Vesper's necklace in the snow? I think they need to take a new angle on the Quantum organisation and not have yet another plot where James Bond is solely motivated by revenge. It's getting a bit tiresome by this stage and I'm not sure that the old Bernard Lee M would have approved.

I think it would be tiresome as @Dragonpol says if it's going to be personal. Especially about Vesper whom he lost quite a few years ago now.
If there are going to be any sorts of reference, then it should just be a line of dialogue like "You couldn't even protect your old girl from us" or something like that. Just something subtle that could give Bond an emotional punch in the stomach.

Is this fragrance available to buy yet? I would love to try on some "Quantum" to impress on my nights out.

I'll be beating the men away with a stick (haha yeah sure (sarcasm). :-))

It's a man's fragrance and it has a very masculine scent. I understand you are a woman so unless you are a fan of this kind of scent I wouldn't advise it to you.

Oh I didn't mean another revenge plot as much as proper justice. Let's put it this way: Mr White still at large, alive and well and we know many leaders or Quantum are at least free and probably active too. I think it is time to give it a proper send off.

because Quantum needs to be expanded why are you such in a rush to destroy the best move the producers made since 1989

    Of course not

Second best film of the SERIES that is how I feel :D

    my top 5 are

    1. Casino Royale
    2. Quantum of Solace
    3. Licence to Kill
    4. From Russia with love
    5. On Her Majesties Secret Service

But regardless of that you realize the organization of Quantum was introduced in 2006's Casino Royale right? and that the organization is what we are talking about not the brilliant but severly underated 2008 Quantum of Solace.

How do you know? And now the trend in franchises is to have continuity and recurring or semi recurring adversaries. See the Batman franchise for instance. A recurring adversary helps create a proper aura of menace.

Quantum is not coming back. At least not for Bond 24

@Samuel001, that's right. Whether he wants it to happen or not, it's just not going to happen. It's not a trilogy that just "needed to come to an end," it's a 50+ year franchise that had one of, if not the, most successful film release last year, after 22 other films. It won't happen. The series makes money and the fans still line up, happy as ever.

If fans did want the series to end after Craig because they "won't find someone else who is as good as Craig," then how would they have felt once Connery's tenure came to a close? He's always hailed as "the best," so why continue after him, then?

Ill most likely be eating my words for Bond ending comment, but not for my quantum Bond 24 comment
