The World Is Not Enough: "I always wanted to have Christmas in Turkey." (love-hate this line)
Diamonds Are Forever: The Crematory Scene, Bond vs Franks in the elevator
Moonraker: Gondola Scene
A View To A Kill: Christopher Walken
QOS: Rene Mathias and closure from Vesper
DAD: The fencing scene in the parts that don't involve Madonna's presence.
TWINE: PTS and Desmond's departure.
TND: Paris's death.
AVTAK: May Day blowing herself up.
MR: Everything not involving outer space or double taking pigeons.
TSWLM: PTS and Naomi
LALD: The bayou boat chase
DAF: The humor when I forget how poor of a followup it is to OHMSS.
YOLT: Tiger and Aki
AVTAK: Jenny, Pola, Sir Godfrey, Chantilly, John Barry, Cold War elements, 1980s-ish atmosphere
TWINE: OHMSS references, Zukovsky, Cigar Girl, attempt to do something a little different with the main villain formula
QOS: Craig, Mathis, Strawberry, the fall threw the glass roof, Tosca
DAD, the swordfight. Pierce's performance, the VR scene between Bond and MP, the Bond/Q scene
QoS, Craig (although I haven't quite been won-over by him yet his performance was ok), the last 2 scenes, the score in the end credits, .
TMWTGG: Barry's score and the Funhouse
AVTAK: Barry's score, Sir Rog and Tanya Roberts
DAD: Pike and the London scenes
LTK - I looooove the tanker chase. I like Robert Davi.
TMWTGG - I like some of the dialogue (often witty and very clever). I like Sir Rog. I like the gun.
AVTAK - I like the Eiffel |Tower sequence. I like Christopher Walken.
DAD - I like the sword fight, some of the Cuba sequences are enjoyable. The sequence where Bond punches the South African gangster's lights out, steps in the room and a disinterested girl says 'hello' to him. That was funny.
CR - Mathis
TWINE - Llwelyn's goodbye
TND - Spying in Hamburg
DAD - Cuba arrival music
GE - The cast (excluding pathetic Brosnan).
DAF - The theme song, Slumber Inc.
AVTAK - Christopher Walken
Some of the other films I disliked don't actually have good aspects, in my opinion.
Also, I wouldn't call TWINE one of my "least liked" Bond films, but it deserves an honorable mention because it mixes horrible scenes with decent ones. Redeeming aspects: Zukovski, Zukovski, and more Zukovski.
TWINE - the girls.
* TMWTGG- Roger Moore is young (lol), Christopher Lee, Golden Gun prop is awesome
* TWINE- This is actually my least favorite of the whole series. Not much to say.... cool car...? But then again they totally destroyed it. Really reaching here.... Actually, I will say this much: Good send off for Q.
* DAF- I admit it has grown on me- I like Connery's fight in the elevator, and I've finally learned to appreciate just how hot Jill St. John was. When I was a kid, I used to dismiss her right away because she had a hairstyle like my grandmother :D
* YOLT- Tiger was cool- and I'd love to have a 'Japanese bath'
* DAD- Actually, the whole first half is pretty good. It's a shame the direction they took with it... I even liked the bullet in the Gunbarrel- lol I remember seeing it opening day and the whole theatre ducked and gasped! It was fun
4. Dr. No - Sean Connery, Dr. No, Jack Lord, and the control room.
3. Licence to Kill - Wayne Newton, Robert Davi, and the stunt sequences.
2. Casino Royale - The cinematography.
1. Quantum of Solace - I liked the length of the film. I am glad that it ended quickly.
You Only Live Twice has some fantastic locations and a killer score, the allys also aren't bad - the rest of the film...
The World Is Not Enough has got a great final scene with Q, great boat chase and great boat chase score, the plot is fantastic, it's excusation...
I don't like the Craig films. Not only do I not like his portrayal, but I don't like the reboot stories either.
So it looks like we are on the same page when it comes to Daniel Craig and Roger Moore.
19. GF: Titlesong, maintitle, gunbarrel scene, Pussy Galore
20. MR: Maintitle, title song, Ally's
21. CR: Maintitle, with exeption of Miami the locations, Judi Dench
22. TB: Specter (Number 1), Title song, Ally scene's.
Whyle LALD unnerving for Moonraker because of the Voodoo, for me the violence and 24 elements of be unnerving factor for me with Casino Royale. Also i don´t eat the cake about the reboot.
LALD for me is rank at the 7th place for me It be a original movie where the Voodoo part of it. This be the highest place i can at LALD, between OHMSS and FRWL. That Desmond not be in it i don´t like.
In no order of Bond 'least favorites' etc
#1 Die Another Day
The PTS in Korea, hovercrafts, a very good teaser, Swordfight with Graves, really struggling to come up with more now... Graves arrival in London from the sky on parachute maybe
#2 Goldfinger
Golf match with Connery and Auric, end sequence at Fort Knox, Oddjob battle, electrocution etc, Goldfinger demonstration of Operation Grandslam, Connery pulling funny faces in Jail Cell even
#3 Octopussy
The opening with the acrostar Jet, train ride across Germany, auction scene at Sotherbys, Moore deals with intruders at the Octopussy Island, Talks with Orlov
#4 Tomorrow Never Dies
Very good PTS at the arms fair, Sheryl Crow song, Bond sneaking around the Carver building in Hamburg, fight scene with Carver heavies, soundproof room, The Doctor Kaufmann bit and slaying
#5 Diamonds are Forever
The Wint / Kidd pair, actually genuinely amusing they were. Bond in Amsterdam/ The fight with Peter Franks on the apartment elevator, Yes, Jill St John was in it, I enjoyed that. The Bambi / Thumper battle for some reason. Connery masquerading as Klaus Hergerscheimer, checking radiation shields et al
Die Another Day: Torture scenes; sword fight; PTS (kinda)
Live and Let Die: THE VILLAINS, they're brilliant!
Tomorrow Never Dies: love the villain idea, not the execution (feels Flemingesque in concept); stealth ship; Chinese tension; motorcycle chase*
Diamonds Are Forever: Theme tune.. about it for that release
* I really like the whole concept behind TND, the writing was just so terrible unfortunately!
You Only Live Twice
Bond gets into Osato chemicals, makes his escape, Bond gets captured 'May I smoke' etc. The first meeting with Tiger Tanaka, a most super theme tune from Nancy Sinatra
View to a Kill
Scenes with Moore/McNee. Stacy Sutton can't see a freakin' great air blimp behind her about five yards away. Christopher Walken as well had a screen presence. The opening in Paris, Eiffel Tower scenes etc
On Her Majestys Secret Service
Lazenby gets the safe combination and waiting around. Helicopter scenes with Bunt. Scenes with the Blofeld girls at Piz Gloria. End siege on said retreat/research center. Very good John Barry score
License to Kill
Dario in Cocaine Grinder. Leiter fed to sharks. Fight battle at the bimini bar. Interrogation of Bond by Sanchez at the Casino upstairs. The increased level of violence from a previously tame round of Bond releases
Goldeneye
Pre credits sequence at the Arkhangel facility. Bond and Natalya in the holding cell before Defense Minister Mishkin arrives. On the armor train with Trevelyan and Onatopp. With Tanner and M at MI6 HQ as the Goldeneye is fired. Brosnan and Alec at the ruins as he explains his betrayal and his forming of the Janus group
and it's time for bed :bz
18.AVTAK = Tanya Roberts
19.TND = Michelle Yeoh
20.TWINE = none
21.DAF = Lana WOod
22.DAD = Rosamund Pike
Moonraker = There are actually quite a few good parts in this one. Skydive sequence (before Jaws appears) centrifuge torture, fight with Chang, boat chase on the Amazon. And I don't hate the space sequences as much as most people.
Die Another Day = Again, a lot of good stuff. Surfing, hovercraft chase, Bond's capture, strolling casually through the hotel soaking wet and dressed in PJs, sword fight KICKS ASS!! I've always enjoyed the car chase on ice despite its overall stupidity.
The Man With the Golden Gun = Moore's best performance, Scaramanga, fight in Saida's dressing room (Moore's best fight) car flipping across the bridge.
Quantum of Solace = Wow...this one's tough. I'll just mention...well...Craig is pretty good I guess (considering the crap he had to work with) Mathieu Almaric is a good villain. Some of Arnold's score is decent here, like during the opening scenes at Tosca.
DAD: the pts, the title sequence itself - the sequence not the song- and the fencing
LTK: The pts, the first visit to the Krest boat, the atempt to kill Sánchez and the tricking to Sánchez.
1. Quantum of Solace - when I press eject after waking up
2. On her Majesty's Secret Service - The Gun Barrel, the title song
3. The world is not enough - Q and Pierce Brosnan
4. Diamonds Are Forever - Everything but the christmas cracker jokes
5. Casino Royale - The fact that it was the first bond film in years, thats it!
I liked pretty much all of DAD except the final iceland part and the plane finale (when it went really OTT)
Good point about QoS. Why did it have to be a hotel as opposed to a lair?
But with the good, comes the bad.
Diamonds Are Forever - The humour and pace of the film. The return of Connery
Die Another Day - This one continues to grow on me (Sorry Luds), I really do get caught up in this boys own adventure. But Rosamund Pike, Toby Stephens (even though he chews the scenery) and Brosnan are the plus points for me.
Moonraker - For the most part this is excellent Bond. It's only when Bond ventures into space, that I get frustrated. A minor quibble really.
Quantum Of Solace - After CR, I was expecting much, much better. Infact other than Craig, there is little I enjoy about this total mess of a film. Possibly my least viewed Bond film.
The Man Wth The Golden Gun - The locations, Lee, Moore and Adams are really the plus points here. I find the energy crisis plot dates the film, and often events happen that make no sense. Hip leaving Bond after rescuing him from the Karate school. Sheriff Pepper turning up in Bangkok, and shopping for a car.
Both these scenes are far to convenient means to an action sequence. Sloppy film-making.
