Well he only did AVTAK to be able to surpass Connery's 6 films and to set a tough record for any future actor to equal so i dont think he put as much effort as in OP,but, after watching it the other night i still feel he did a good job in it until the stupid shower scene at the end.

I don't think he did a "bad" job, I just didn't feel he was convincing as Bond in the film. He was like that cool uncle everyone in the family loves.

Well at least he makes a mean omelette.....

Exactly...and he tucks Stacey in to make sure she's safe and warm.

He probably copped a quick feel though during the night....she wouldnt have known he he ..

I think they should have maybe done something similar to Moonraker and had her politely reject Bond. Perhaps a boyfriend could come on the scene? They'd need to work him in during the course of the main story though.

    /10
    1. Direction - 8
    2. Screenplay - 8
    3. Script - 10 (loads of memorable dialogue here!)
    4. Plot - 10 (simple yet incredibly thrilling, and goodness knows how many movies have used this same idea, so it must be a keeper!)
    5. Action - 8 (Bond's stealth mission at Palmyra and the Disco Volante battle deserve special mention here)
    6. Main Villain - 8 (could be considered slightly dull at times, but I've always liked Largo; he has that certain reserved menace that only a Bond villain can possess)
    7. Main Bond Girl - 9
    8. Bond - 10 (probably Connery's best performance along with FRWL)
    9. Sets - 8
    10. Music - 8
    11. Cinematography - 10 (stunning location work!)
    12. Fleming - N/A

    /5
    13. Supporting Cast - 2 (some rather forgettable side characters except for Fiona Volpe and perhaps Vargas)
    14. Main Titles - 4
    15. Plausibility - 4
    16. Pace - 2 (not awful, but a bit tedious in places like the Vulcan capturing and all the bomb transportation; anything underwater becomes slow as well, obviously)
    17. Editing - 2 (a little off in many places)
    18. Tilt - 1 (there's nothing particularly nostalgic or reminiscent for me about TB)

The movie to slow, way to long screenplay (Same time as LTK), thanks to the very to long water scene's and very bad action. Very bad editing. Music is even sometimes worse then previous movie GF and it not quite with TB. The parts i like the moost be hide Blofeld like i did in FRWL, some other elements used later in OHMSS and Twine and QOS. The humor from the movie saved a litle bit thanks to Q followd by Bond, M and Moneypenny. A reasen why i dislike Vesper have possible also something to do with Fiona from Thunderball. One of my not favorite chacters of series. I also whas not big fan of Jack Lord, but mabey this have changed if there ask him back for GF and TB. I dislike this Felix.

In Everything or Nothing there talk about Fleming death but also about the warning to Fleming that he take to work over form some of Kevin McClory idea's, but not lissen. So it end Draw. McClory get his money/credits for TB movie and aloud to make NSNA and Fleming who whas very il get his last pleasure.

The only Bond movie who get 5/10 from me. Top 23: 23/23

So far nothing is too far out of the ordinary between my rankings and these ratings, except for TLD being over AVTAK, which is not the case in my rankings- I prefer AVTAK a good ways over TLD in my rankings! Also, I enjoy TMWTGG more than CR, so that one is off as well. It's interesting how the ratings put things into a different perspective, yet still remains mostly consistent with my opinions.

@royale65: Do you have any idea yet as to what the next movie will be?

In my own ratings I expected TB to be much higher than my piddling 80%. Did you expect your own % of TB to be higher?
