I enjoy CR for what it is a brilliant and fun take on Ian Flemings 007 movies mostly, the movie does have parts that are great like the cast, the women and the music. And I still love the segment of Jimmy Bond it always cracks me up.

I Can't Believe It's Not Bond! Never Say Never Again, 1983

    /10
    1. Direction – 4. Is this seriously the same man who directed Empire? Are we sure Lucas didn't ghost-direct in his place?
    2. Screenplay – 3. Good source material, obviously, but in the end it's just a cheap rehash. I also find the motorcycle chase to be quite poor and unnecessary, just tossed in here for the sake of it. Same with the infamous horse chase.
    3. Script – 6. That bit with Connery and the bouncer is priceless.
    4. Plot – 8. Again, due to the source material.
    5. Action - 2. The motorcycle chase, again. And the underwater stuff is even more tedious this time around!
    6. Main Villain – 6. I somewhat enjoy this interpretation of Largo.
    7. Main Bond Girl - 9. Basinger is the best thing about this movie, to be sure.
    8. Bond – 6. He's back!... kind of. Leaves a lot to be desired, and of course he's way too old, but it's miles better than his turn in DAF.
    9. Sets – 3. Everything's so... forgettable. So bland.
    10. Music – 0. Haha. Haha. Haha. NO.
    11. Cinematography – 6. Middling.
    12. Fleming - 3.

    /5
    13. Supporting Cast – 3. For every Bernie Casey (woooo!) there's that chick who played Fatima (boooo!)
    14. Main Titles - 0. NEVER, NEVER PLAY THIS SONG AGAIN.
    5. Plausibility - 3. Sure?
    16. Pace - 3. It moves quickly, but too quickly.
    17. Editing - 2.
    18. Tilt – 1. Ehh. I don't like this one.

Well, it only beat DAD from the official series, and NSNA was quite close to gazumping DAF too.

I was thinking of resurrecting this thread in 2015 in the build up to B24. I quite like the idea of having a comparison, from 2014 and beyond, to see if our community has any changes as to where they rank a particular Bond film. And when new members join, will they influence the score? Will the Craig films last the test of time, or will FRWL be top dog in the future? Will Brosnan have his renaissance? And where will B24 end up, and will we see a deprecation or an appreciation to it? Any thoughts?

When we first include the other two non official films, it seems unlogical to skip CR 54.

It's not just that NSNA was released in the same year as OP, that I rate it so lowly. It's because it's a pretty poor film. It has some great ideas, scenes and characters. But as hard as it tries, it never quite gets there.
It's a Sean Connery Bond trying to be a Roger Moore Bond. Doesn't quite work.

I have seen CR'54 ages ago, but will have to watch it again to really judge it, it has a completely different feel to it than any of the EON franchise or NSNA/CR67.
