I think the same rule applies, doesn't it? Once Grant is killed, the film flounders.
And the boat chace?
For me that reminded me so much of a similar scene in Jule Verne s Courier Of the Czar, it can not be coincidental. I am sure Terence Young or Richard Maibaum or both paid a homage to Michail Stroganoff in that fantastic book there.
It does have some pretty fine moments, I'll admit, but I don't care for the finale whatsoever, and it really puts a damper on the film as a whole for me. Still, it definitely could've been worse, and this viewing went slightly better than it normally does, which was nice.

Another terrific entry of Moore's, though I think this time around, I've found LALD and TSWLM to be a bit more preferable. Still, excellent movie, with so many incredible scenes, especially the intense finale. Also a big fan of all the water scenes, and the ski chase and car chase sequences earlier on.

Always enjoyable, and one of the more criminally underrated Bond movies, I feel. Sure, it has its bad moments, like the Tarzan yell and the ruining of the finale's pacing with the bits involving Octopussy and her acrobats, but still, very entertaining.

Goldeneye (1995)
I've seen this film more than 10 times in 2016 now, and it never gets old. Brosnan is fantastic here, from a spectacular PTS, to some stealth in Monaco, to a badass tank chase to a brutal fist fight with 006 in Cuba. Natalya is one of my favorite Bond girls, very sexy and oh so lovely. Trevelyan, Xenia, Boris are all great, but my go-to villain here is Ourumov, the only villain in the entire series I wish Bond didn't kill because he's such a legend. Soundtrack: I know it's a very controversial soundtrack, but I can't imagine GE without this particular music. Action scenes: very good, from the tank chase to the 006 vs Bond showdown.
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
What a film. Brosnan is even more assured in the role here, the action is almost non-stop for 2 hours, David Arnold enters the franchise with a bang. Damn do I enjoy hearing the Bond theme full blast almost every 5 minutes. The PTS, Hamburg break in/break out, parking car chase, bike chase and final showdown on the stealth boat: wall-to-wall action, and I love all these epic action scenes. Villains: Pryce really hams it up as Carver, and that's what make him so good. Stamper is a big block of nothing, I don't know why but I still find him pretty cool. Teri Hatcher as Paris is awful but I quite like Wai Lin. Badass factor: extremely high, Brosnan is a total boss in this film.

Disliked by many, but it's always held a special place in my heart. Moore's too old (which leads to an obvious overusage of stunt doubles), Stacey is horribly annoying (if only he had left her in that elevator, she's pretty pointless), some of the supporting cast is weak (never cared for Chuck Lee), and I could do with having the locations a little more spiced up, but at the same time, there's a lot for me to enjoy here, in particular the wildly psychotic role of Zorin, which is wonderfully handled by the great Christopher Walken, a very solid finale, a great title sequence/song, and a greatly missed return by the legendary John Barry.
TLD.
Yet another one that has been a very so-so one throughout my life that I've never particularly cared for, until the last couple of viewings. It continues to rise in my rankings, though some scenes do tend to drag and hold the film in its entirety down a little bit (mainly the ones involving Bond and Kara escaping, the ice pursuit, and a few scenes that follow, though I do enjoy the one at the circus.) A lot of people don't seem to care for the finale, though I don't mind it. It's rather weak in some instances, but it culminates in that great netting fight that I enjoy. Overall, a rather solid and at times entertaining addition, despite the spot in the ranking; there are just too many better entries that precede it, but I still like it.
LTK.
Solid and straight forward as always, this is one I can put in at any time and enjoy. This is another one that tends to drag a little bit in the beginning and middle here and there, but it then gets more exciting as Bond attempts to set up Milton Krest. I'm also a big fan of the finale.

Skyfall, GoldenEye and Moonraker.
Skyfall was a movie that I enjoyed, but didn't really see why it was so popular. However with this viewing I enjoyed it slightly more. I prefer the first half or two thirds. Actually when Silva is taken back to London it kinda goes south for me. And I do like Javier Bardem. I think he's a good villain. But the plot holes are bigger than the hole he makes in the underground explosion. Still, not quite a top ten film for me, but most definitely a move up my rankings.
GoldenEye was the real surprise for me. As many of you know, I've never really enjoyed this one. All the way back to '95 when I first saw it, after waiting six years since LTK came out. Anyway, I'm not sure what has happened, but I really enjoyed it this time. Pierce was brilliant. A great debut movie, Sean Bean makes a good villain, but with Ouromov and Onatopp as hench people, makes it all the more better. Stunning set pieces, good visually, over the top action adventure at its best. Very enjoyable.
And then finally for now, Moonraker. Now due to the film going far to far into the realms of fantasy, with laser battles, and space stations, I cannot rank this film any higher than middle of the road ever. But it is a great film to watch. It moves along at a brisk old pace, and never during the two hour running time did I get bored. As I said, it's just a little too silly to give it a higher ranking, but it does have so many great scenes. The centrifuge, Corrine's death, anything with Michael Lonsdale. Stunning visually, and if you can over look the space battle finale, mostly enjoyable.

What can I say that I haven't said a thousand times before? The movie that started the Bond craze for me, and the one movie that I probably sat through a good 50+ times before exploring the rest of the Bond universe. This is the only film in my ranking that I 100% know will never lose its spot.

I think Tom Cruise has taken elements of this film (at least the attitude and verve/spark) and incorporated it into the last two films in his MI series as well, to its benefit.
Maybe I'll enjoy this movie again one day, but sadly, not this viewing. I'd say the word "weak" explains a lot of my issues with the movie: a lot of the action scenes feel weak in their choreography, the finale itself is nothing but goofy dual-wielding gunfights, with some explosions on top, and I don't care for the main villain like most do; he comes across as a pouty, narcissistic baby who isn't threatening in the slightest to me. Highlights, however: a couple of good lines, a great PTS, and I do enjoy the scenes with Kaufman, Wade and Q (although they're a bit too short), and the garage sequence. In the end, another "surprise" for my Bondathon, as I found myself shockingly enjoying MR this time around, so that'll set TND in last place for me, currently.

That still puts in the "better half" of Bond films for you, which is good enough for me. I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with how this list looks than how the last one did.
THE MAN WITH THE GREY GUN.
This has always been my second favorite of Brosnan's, and I manage to enjoy it a little bit more each time. The action scenes are a lot better this time around, though unfortunately, what could've been an amazing finale fight between Bond and Renard ends up rather dull and disappointing. For a man that feels no pain, they missed a great opportunity there. Elektra makes for a great villain, but Christmas Jones a great Bond girl? Sadly not. Richards playing a doctor of any type isn't believable enough. Big highlight: love the PTS, and we unfortunately have our final scene with Llewelyn's Q. I also do enjoy the ski chase, though it seems I may be in the minority with that.

The one movie that gets the most negativity thrown its way, I've learned to ignore the multitude of awful scenes and even worse CGI seen in this, and enjoy it for the good it has, which there is quite a bit to be found. It still finds itself at the bottom of the list (as ignoring the issues of the movie doesn't remove the issues entirely), but at least there's a pretty good entertainment factor there, and underneath it all, the possibility of a really good Bond entry is buried. Still trying to decide on the ranking of the Bottom 3, so that's how it looks for now, though it'll be edited to hell before this thing is over, I think.

Recently added Thunderball and For Your Eyes Only to the mix.
Thunderball has been a firm favourite for years. Despite the sloppy editing and slow underwater sequences. It's a great Bond film imo. Connery was ultra cool in this, the locations are stunningly beautiful, the villains are brilliant and I love Barry's soundtrack.

For Your Eyes Only is a movie that I've only really appreciated in the last few years. Somehow I often overlooked what a wonderful entry this is. Sir Rog play's it most straight, and tones down the comedy side. The story is back to a bare bones spy thriller, with plenty of action sequences thrown in. A great ally, very good leading lady and decent villains. Though I wish Kristatos could've been a little more fleshed out. Love adding the keel hauling scene from the LALD novel as well. Brilliant Bond film.

What can I say I like to be thourough sadly there is really nothing I can do for Dalton's lost third bond film The Property of a lady I mean I could watch a playthrough of James Bond the duel but that seems overly silly....
But yeah I figure this way when I hit spectre they should be somewhat further along with Bond 25 including confirming Daniel Craig either returning or leaving the writers director release date and some cast/locations
Getting this film after a four year hiatus was much needed. It's the most classic Bond we've had in quite some time, and what a terrific film it is, 2/2 for Martin Campbell. The score, the cinematography, the wonderful dialogue I dig into each time, the tense casino scene, one of the best parkour chases I've ever seen on film, and more. This will forever be one of the best additions of the series to me.

I've always said that on certain days, QoS fares slightly better than CR, and on this particular day, that was the case. QoS, something that I was very excited for after seeing all the trailers but didn't think could possibly top CR at the time, somehow ended up blowing my mind and leaving me a die-hard fan of the film from day one, seeing it five total times in theaters, a record for me at the time. The entire film is a highlight to me, and the one part that has dragged in the past - the entire airplane chase sequence - has gotten a little more enjoyable over time. I love this movie.
