Blood, Sweat and Bond down to a fiver. Can't see it getting any cheaper so if you haven't got it what the bloody hell are you waiting for?

Also the really lovely Bond by Design: The Art of the James Bond Films for £10 (down from the £20 it cost me when I bought it the previous week).

And, today, the James Bond Encyclopedia Updated Edition for £10 (though it came up as £7 at the till, score).

I might as well receive my salary in The Works vouchers, at this point.

Good to know I can always access some emergency Bond reading on the go.

For those who don't mind their books being pre-owned/second hand then I always find that Amazon UK has a good few third party sellers who sell certain books on the cheap. For example, and this was mentioned on another thread very recently, this book - The Science of James Bond: From Bullets to Bowler Hats to Boat Jumps, the Real Technology Behind 007's Fabulous Films - can be bought for the princely sum of 1 pence, with a postage cost of £2.80. So, basically £2.81 which is quite the bargain.

I'm sure this may well apply to other books and it's well worth taking a good look. I'm sure it'll be the same with other items, not just books.

Just been in to my local branch of The Works bookshop and - Blood, Sweat and Bond: Behind the Scenes of Spectre - is now only £3, down from a fiver. Whether it's national I'm not sure and it's not available on the website, but in Morecambe only 3 quid. Such a bargain.

I just checked this out and it is now £4.99 but then I noticed a note saying 'you have already purchased this item'.

    Excellent, @barryt007!

One of my non-fan friends bought it and has been sharing his reactions as he reads: "Bond smokes 70 a day!?"

Ha, my friend has now bought LALD. Hook, line and sinker.

In other news, my local Hawkin's Bazaar had the Corgi Thunderball DB5 and Spectre DB10 at £4.99 each today, down from £20. Priced to take out of the box and play with properly!

Yep I know most members will already have them but just in case poundland appears to be slowly increasing their stock of 007 films. Yesterday I got TSWLM and LALD.

That's what I thought. Poundland actually has a very good general DVD section with many well known films, comedy and TV shows. They are called 'replay' because they are refurbished but are as new. I'm looking at my LALD DVD now and it is fully packaged and guaranteed. I've had quite a few hardback books and DVDs over time from there.

    Hi @barryt007, 'Special 007 Edition'.

Really? I'm missing TND from the Special Edition set and I always thought I've missed my chance of getting it after so many years. Perhaps I need to pay a visit to my local Poundland! Thanks for the tip, @stag.

@gt007 as far as I can gather different shops carry slightly different stock (could be that they sell out of course) so if you have more than one poundland in your area it may be worth visiting them all.

Better still though you could simply pop into the one nearest and ask if they can get TND Special Edition for you. They are usually quite helpful and if they have it at their main depot they will order it to be delivered to the shop. I've done this a few times with other things.
Let us know how you get on.

Meanwhile in my nearest branch of CeX, you can enjoy Pierce's entire run or 24 copies of CR (yes, I counted), all at 50p each:

@gt007 - I can take a look for TND today if you like!

I liked the spines of the SE set but the UE came out as I started to buy dvds so never got them. Would be easily tempted in buying them so they would look good on the shelf beside my vhs copies but don't really need them apart from that

Thanks for the very kind offer, @Agent_99. Don't let me trouble you. I'll go down and have a look at my local Poundland stores later today and have a look.

If anyone feels the need to smell like Quantum, it's half price in Boots:

(This thread is really highlighting my habit of spending my lunchbreak wandering aimlessly in and out of shops.)

Just picked up a copy of the book, Bond On Bond from Sir Rog. Was only £2 instore. Online it's at £4 but out of stock. Well worth looking in your local branch of The Works. This is paperback by the way.

A friend from out of town is visiting in April, so I get an excuse to go again :)
