Here's a great find in the BBC archive. Some of the Fleming soundbites are crystal clear, which one is not used to. Tony Slattery narrates and it covers a lot of good ground; fairly Fleming-based and not movie obsessive.

The rules and formulas that drive the Bond myth are investigated by Tony Slattery in this edition of 'Cult Heroes'. Cars, clothes, gadgets, food, drink and women are the accessories that give Ian Fleming's creation style and substance, as well as generating huge revenues for the advertisers whose product placements feature in the Bond movies.

Wow, thanks for making that available, @007InVT. I'll enjoy listening to that later. Never heard it it until now, though it's from 1990!

Yes, it's certainly a goldmine for the Bond enthusiast! A few of them I do have on tape, but a lot of them I don't have as well. Thanks for making them available, @007InVT!

No, neither could I. I'll see if I can dig mine out and send you a copy if I can find it. It was first broadcast in 2007, then repeated in 2008 as part of the Fleming Centenary. I believe I also recorded it then too.

I can't seem to find any quotes from Martin Amis on Bond/Fleming/Kingsley on Bond etc. Do you know of any?

Apart from him commenting on a Bond article of mine on The Bondologist Blog, no.
