I don't see why. The numbers are fair. Connery still has a dominant lead. The game is coming to a close, I just reduced the numbers so the game wouldn't be running in circles. With less points, I'm sure more people will come in and vote for their respective Bond.

There's nothing fair about this! You removed 50 points from Sean, so if it was fair than Roger should be at -6!!!!!! This is really unfair and not smart and I'm sure will be very, very, VERY unpopular, just like your prior point reduction attempt @Murdock! What made you pick these arbitrary numbers? Did you make a diction based on your opinion? Just like it's your opinion that Roger should win? There are so many conflicts of interest here that it's laughable. Yet again, any decision made by this game is now irreversibly tainted by the fact that you let your opinions and emotions get in the way. THIS IS WRONG!!! I ask again @Murdock, come to your senses, do the right thing, and change the scores back to the way they were. If you want to subtract from the numbers to make to game move faster, at least subtract the same number from each!!!

@sirseanisbond, The decision is final. Either play the game or don't. I won't let you or anyone else bully me into changing the scores again. I gave a fair reduction to both parties. This has nothing to do with my opinions. I couldn't take 50 off roger because he didn't have over 50. Do the math. I reduced the even numbers.

And no offence, your pretty biased yourself.

Here we go again... :( Can't we just let this go and have fun with the game?

(To be fair though, Murdock, you did kind of ask for trouble. The numbers were even and a 50% cut plausible. No one would have complained. Instead you chose two completely random numbers...)

Oh well. Thundefinger told me no matter what I did, I'd take heat for it. So I'm just going to have to take it. The decision is final. It's a reduced fraction on even numbers. I didn't pull them out of nowhere. I used math logic to come to my ultimate conclusion. Sean still has a definitive lead.

Ok, I may have got a bit mad initially, but there is a simple resolution here. if @Murdock wants to avoid all the claims of bias and being unfair, then he should change it to a fair 50% reduction. That way Sean, who was at 94 would be at 47, and Roger, who was at 44, would be at 22. Since the change, 2 have voted Sean down and 1 has voted Sean up, so this should be the scores:

    Sean: 46
    Roger: 23

^^^This is how the scores should be!!!

I will flag any comments that argue with this one. Murdock's game, Murdock's rules, Murdock's decision. Stop giving him grief.
Wow. I don't mean to be indecent, but who rammed a stick up your rear today?

I could say this about at least two people on the boards today. Really just not a great day to be an MI6 member with some of the garbage I've had to read.

@sirseanisbond, who cares? It's a game that you know Sean will win anyway. I can confidently say that almost all of us know that Connery will win, but some of us are voting Moore because he's either our favorite (not mine, but I love the man), or we just like him enough to keep him in the game. There's the keyword: a game. You're really so dead set on Connery winning that you have to feign shouting to get a point across? It's just a game that's meant for fun. I could understand being upset if Murdock swapped the scores, but he didn't, he just did a simple reduction on both. Connery still holds a significant lead, and in the end, it's his game. He isn't being unreasonable. Stop trashing him and flipping out and either accept the rule change, or stop playing.

This unconventional cut will get you burned at the stakes if Moore wins now, @Murdock. Let me help.

It's Murdock's game. His call. Either play or don't. If I ever do one of these things I'll probably let it go as is for an eternity and that will piss even more people off.

I'm hosting the Great Bond Girl Elimination Game right now, and it'll receive no difference in points. If it comes down to two girls and we're at a stalemate for months, I don't care. Let people get pissed off and leave, I won't be reducing the points at all. Again, I don't see what the rush is.

Well for me, the game is at it's final stretch. Two great candidates are neck and neck. but it has to come to a close some time soon, And plus other people have Elimination games they wish to start up so This game has seen it's run and should end with dignity. But if it's stuck in a loop then something has to be done. The problem is some people take these games way too seriously and start arguments. Ultimately, It's the game master who makes the choice, but when people get insulting because of a decision then that's where it gets too damn far. I can understand problems when I made both Connery and Moore equal. But what I did was shave the numbers to be at a level where the game would end sooner rather than later. I understand that you can't please everyone, but there is no need to be rude over it. That's what rubs me the wrong way.

Firstly, I want to thank @Murdock for being such a good host. Any threads that can run their course so peacefully, are good threads. ;-)

One small remark though, more as a suggestion for future games: when the scores are cut to smaller numbers, just so we can speed things up, perhaps we should cut both remaining choices proportionally. E.g. both get cut in half. Now, an arbitrary number of votes was cut from Sean and a different albeit equally arbitrary number was cut from Roger. In principle, there's nothing wrong with that: it's just a game after all. But it could invite a debate over whether this was correct or not. Some mathematical logic would be advisable.

Meanwhile, let’s all continue to enjoy this game, and I put my faith in @Murdock to lead us to its conclusion.
