If Pats lose, maybe Giselle can have another meltdown. It was entertaining the first time around.

what is there to melt?.. that twig needs a cheeseburger. lol
  • This business about "deflated balls" is idiotic! First, the ref's have control of the balls and handle them every down. One of them would have noticed. And even if it did happen, the Colts would have lost either way because they aren't even on the same level as the Patriots. The only "deflated balls" on the field were in Luck's pants!

Mike McCarthy must be the dumbest person to walk a sideline. I mean how , oh how do you lose that game. You stupid ... I guess he ate so many donuts that the fat went to his head!
Maybe that team lacks a certain killer instinct.
1.Why not go for the TD when he was inside the 5 in first quarter?
    2. How did special teams let that fake fool them?
    3. Why does that DB pick off Wilson with 4 minutes left and take a knee instead of returning it for possibly a game icing TD or at the least get the offense so close in they would score that game clincher?
    4. How the F did they miss the onside kick?
    6. With richard Sherman in pain and playing with only one arm, why didn't the Packers attack that SOB? Send your top receiver deep and go after the big mouth. No was he gonna intercept, let along make a tackle with one arm. Jeez!
    5. You got the ball with 1:25 left, three timeouts, the best QB in the game and you play for a F-ing tie? How many times have we seen Elway, Favre, and Montana win games in that exact situation?
    5. WTH calls "tails" on a coin toss?

McCarthy, to call that fat slob stupid is an insult to Greg Roman. That donut smacking, chicken stealing doofus went "total retard."

in terms of control of the balls - you right and wrong.. yes the refs handle them every down - but the teams supply their own balls to use. So when each offense is on the field, they are using their own team balls, and i believe they keep as many as 11 or 12 ready for use during each game, and they get cycled through regularly...

but this deflated ball inquiry is coming straight from the NFL and the officials - not from the Colts saying "hey they cheated"... the officials during the game noticed the balls weren't right and they pulled a few out of circulation..

i whole heartedly agree with you, that this issue didn't make or break the Colts from stinking the joint up - anyone who thinks otherwise isn't in their right mind.... but if tampering was indeed involved, then that does break a serious NFL rule as the air pressure in the footballs needs to be at, or around a certain level - and balls that have less air in them, make them easier to grip in wet conditions.. this is no different than when a pitcher in MLB is caught scuffing a baseball with sandpaper, or putting a foreign substance on the baseball - or when the batter gets caught using a corked bat... like it or not, it's against the rules..

and personally, if they are found guilty, i believe more than losing a measly 1st round pick should be levied against them... they should at least lose all their 1st and 2nd round picks and be forbid to trade to acquire any picks in those rounds - as this would be the 2nd time they've been caught meddling in the past 10 years..

Pretty worried about having Trestman as the Ravens' OC. I think it could be good or bad potentially. Looks like we're probably going to have a pass-heavy offense with him around I would guess...

i think Trestman will be an alright OC... sometimes the best Coordinators don't make good head coaches - just look at Dick LeBeau.. he is/was a defensive mastermind.. but he was a failure as a head coach with the Bengals.

True. Kubiak only had two really good years as the Texans HC - arguably better OC. We'll see how it goes, but I know he can't be any worse as an OC than he was as an HC.

Funnily enough so I am I Timmer! :D But I am sure it will be a tough game. Certainly expect a tighter affair than against Denver?

I'm pretty upset about the Niners retaining the Quarterbacks coach while most of the assistants have been let go. I mean with Kapernick actually regressing this season while the defense played very well under some adverse circumstances...HTH does this douchebag keep his job while Vic Fangio, Defensive coordinator ends up in Chicago?

11 of 12 allotted game balls by the Patriots found under-inflated by 2 psi of what is legally allowed..

Watched the Seahawks v Packers highlights! Simply stunning to come back and win that game! :-O

Go Hawks! Here's hoping for a fully fit team!

ok, I'm a Patriots fan, and this whole "Deflategate" has been pissing me off. I'm not going to go into the particulars and what not because you haters cannot be consoled, but I must say, I just saw Casino Royal was on after Tom's press conference on AMC, and as I re-watched this scene with M, it made me think of how Bill Belichick must feel after this whole debacle!

:)) There's an old sports truism. If you're not cheating, you are not trying.
Hockey lore is full of all sorts of dirty tricks that coaches have used, especially at home to screw over the other team.
    Baseball is rife.
Down the road, coaches get revered for their ingenuity and creativty in pushing the envelope to achieve an edge. Their tricks become the stuff of legend.
The only thing that gets really frowned on it seems, is players using PEDs.

i dont see guys who were constantly caught using corked bats or scuffing baseballs being very much "revered" - Sammy Sosa was caught lying about PEDs AND he was caught using a corked bat - if any "stuff of legend" comes from that, it's the legend and legacy no one wants - just go ask Lance Armstrong.... there is difference between the likes of pretending to get hit by a pitch to get on base and deceptively tampering with equipment to gain a strategic advantage over your opponent..... the rules are the rules, and since they were caught breaking those rules (for the second time now), i believe a heavy handed punishment should follow.
  • edited January 2015 Posts: 4,622
oh sure go ahead and punish them. Corked bats get punished too, and all the bs goalies have done with their equipment over the years, gets punished, but their reputations, their legacies, IMO don't get tarnished in any meaningful way.
In the sports world, many do ascribe to the "if you're not cheating, you are not trying" credo.

Armstrong is tarnished by PEDs. No-one seems to get a pass for that.
There is just something offputting about putting chemicals in your body to achieve advantage.

Anyway, I am cheering for the Hawks. Time for a freshy dynasty, but I could care less about under-inflated footballs.
As much fun as Brady boasting on mockfootball.com might be, another Giselle you-tube meltdown (stick figure aside) would be awesome, and Brady whining on mockfootball.com combined with Russel Wilson Brady-beatdowns, will make for good fodder too. :D

Yeah, I thought the back to back comments about comparing a wet player to Jay Cutler's mom and Tom Brady's reasoning for the overabundance of moisture during the game were the most hilarious back to back comments I've seen on this site.

Off to bed shortly here in the UK and it will not have even kicked off. Just wanted to say good luck to Russell Wilson and the boys for the game later. I am just as nervous as I was last year when we played the Broncos.

I hope you out smart Tom Brady and the Patriots like you did Manning last year. All the best and no matter what I am proud of your defence of the Superbowl title. Win or lose I am proud to be a Seattle fan of over 30 years! Take no prisioners boys and hopefully bring that trophy back to Seattle!!!

    GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Great first half.

For someone who quit following the Top 40 twenty years ago, I thought Katy Perry put on a tremendous halftime show.

May Pete Carroll forever be ostracized for that idiotic pass call on the one yard line.

Congrats New England. I hated you less.

Well can't say I'm not sad about New England winning. But neither of my teams were in anyway, so it really doesn't matter too much for me I suppose. Onto the off-season.

whoever are Patriots fans here - good for you, congrats...

but for me, i refuse to credit the Patriots (and Tom Brady) with winning the game when it was handed to them on a silver platter by what will go down as the most second guessed play calling decision in the history of the NFL, much less the Super Bowl.... I thought that circus catch the 'Hawks receiver made was the death nail for the Pats - just like the helmet catch by Tyree, and just like the sideline catch by Manningham in their previous 2 Super Bowls against the Giants. It took something ridiculous to get the Seahawks right on the door step - and all they had to do on 2nd and Goal from the 1 is RUN.. ESPECIALLY WHEN MARSHAWN LYNCH IN YOUR RUNNING BACK!! - ANNNNNNDD, YOU STILL HAVE A TIMEOUT!!!!!.... it wasn't some complicated plan attack that needed to happen.. everyone and their mom knew you run the ball - even if you don't give it to Lynch - do the ol' QB option - fake the handoff to the RB and let your QB run it - either right behind his RB, or on a bootleg... but Passing it????..... W...T...F???????

i was talking with a friend of mine after the game, and we both were simply dumbfounded by what just happened - but we both agreed, that losing like that, on a boneheaded play call like that - it could potentially ruin the psyche of that team, and they may not ever recover from it...

oh, and the half time show - meh - the best part about it were the dancing sharks lol... i also really liked seeing Missy Elliot, that was a surprise - but i was disappointed that Kravitz was only out there for 2 minutes, what a waste..

but now that that is over with.....

    Go Cleveland Cavaliers!

    and Go Cleveland Indians!
  • Pats Fan here, and I cannot get over how great this victory tastes. It's the best one of them all. Now, when Tom Terrific wins again next year, there will be no question that he is the greatest quarterback to walk the planet earth. SO FRIGGIN' HAPPY!!!!! EAT SH!T SEA-CHICKIN FANS!!!!

I just have to ask @haserot... what brought you to be both a Pittsburgh and Cleveland fan?

pretty weird huh?? Considering that I am born and raised in Cleveland, but I am diehard (not bandwagon) Steelers fan? lol..

my father was born and raised outside of Pittsburgh (a little coal mining town).. he grew up a Steelers fan... he moved to Cleveland, met my mother, the rest i am sure is easy to figure how I came to be lol.. but I remember at a young age, when first getting into football, being with my dad and watching Steelers games - and the very first game i remember was the 1995 Divisional game between the Browns and Steelers - Steelers won of course.. i was 10 at the time, so yeah, I've been a fan of the Steelers ever since - plus my mom and my two older sisters also grew up Steelers fans too (because of my dad).... so thats how that happened.... and it peeves me off when i get called a bandwagoner or front runner by people around here.... #1, i can't help it if your Browns suck lol.. #2, this was the team my family grew up rooting for, so i was kind of born into it....... but i digress..

my love for the Indians (and i am more a baseball fan than a football fan) started when i was young, i remember going to games in the old mistake by the lake stadium - back when the team stunk it up.. but i really didn't start getting into them until 1994 - 1995, when they had those really good teams all through the mid to late 90s... it was a perfect storm of me starting to get into baseball, starting to play baseball - and back then, you couldn't go anywhere without seeing Indians stuff hanging up, or jerseys, they were the toast of the town... so i naturally gravitated towards them....

the Cavaliers just comes from them being the local basketball team - and i've followed them for most of my life as well, but not as closely as the other two, until recently - like the past 12 years or so, even before we drafted Lebron i started following them a little more closely - but when we got him, i started getting more and more into it.. even when he left i remained a loyal Cavs fan.. and now that he's back, i am still a loyal Cavs fan...

but baseball and football will always be my #1 and #2 sports..

but when it comes to Hockey, I am a Penguins fan lol.... so my allegiances are when it comes to sports teams are literally split 50/50 between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
