...that's possible??
Eh. I mean, I am not a big western fan but this was...well not that exciting mostly. And I do get that westerns are always like this (which is why I don't like them lol)
It starts pretty good actually. And then it gets slow and nothing much happens up until the last part which is solid.
The acting is good, the feel of the movie is solid. The soundtrack is solid as well. Fuqua is amazing director and it really shows in this movie.
With that said this movie is...ok. You can see it and you won't be too mad with it, but you can just as well not see it and it will still be ok for you.
I don't know much about the movie so if the story is good this might be a great movie......should I watch the cartoon (is it series or a single movie?) first or should I see the movie first and then I should see the anime so I can see what the original is all about?
I would've seen the anime first but then I am afraid it will ruin the movie for me
There is the first film, which is absolutely amazing. There is the second film, which is very cool if you don´t mind psychedelic robot stuff. And then there are several seasons of a tv series, which I haven´t seen yet.
And of course the original manga is a classic and a masterpiece. The first film follows the first manga closely, so if you want to get spoiled, read the first manga, then watch the first film. The second film and the second manga are two completely unrelated stories.
His name is Beat Takeshi, he´s a legend in Japanese tv and films. He used to be very funny in the early 90s, cracking jokes non stop. Then he had a serious accident, which left him with a scarred face. When he re-appeared in films after that, he had become very sinister and nihilistic. I´m not sure if that´s a showman concept, or if his character was really changed like that.
If you want a quick 40 seconds fix of Tom Cruise badassery before the film in a month' time:
They could have just stopped with the punch through the car window and that would have sold it for me.
Every time I see Fassbender in any role these days I am at a loss to understand why he is not already James Bond.
He is the obvious choice.
I can't help but feel that Craig's career could have mirrored Fassbender's. The guy does all these huge blockbusters but also gets to do smaller films too. It's the perfect medium for any character actor.
He looks like Kinkade :D
Maybe Dan doesn't want that? It's clear his heart is with the stage, not big blockbuster leading roles outside Bond, which just aren't where his interests lie.
Perhaps but even then, I think the number and type of film projects that Fassbender has done that aren't blockbusters are sort of in line with the types of films Craig was doing before he got Bond. Its just an observation really. I think it would have been beneficial to Craig's career if he still made those sort of characters driven, smaller films simultaneously but it's his life; and I'm sure he's more than happy with the direction its gone in but as a fan of his prior to Bond I am a bit disappointed that he hasn't made much of the aforementioned type of films.
With Craig, I'm not so sure. He doesn't appear to be taking advantage of the opportunities which being a Bond actor provides. To each his own, and if it's not what he wants, that's fine. However, while one is the Bond incumbent there are lots of things one can do, and such diversity of roles will definitely disappear once he packs it in.
If Craig does pick up the 150 million offer he can essentially play any part or any movie or play he wants being financially independent.
I guarantee you won't see Craig doing the action film fodder that Brosnan has turned up in and Brosnan could never do Shakespeare if he tried.
I think it's too early to write Craig off after Bond, Purity may well open him to far more roles, he's not had a chance to flex his dramatic muscles save Tattoo since Bond. I think we might see a renaissance in Craig the character actor.
I think if Craig hadn't done Bond he might well be in the similar position to Fassbender but I'm of the opinion that Fassy is a stronger and more versatile performer than Daniel but I think he might surprise us yet.
I'm sure many of a Bond fan hasn't seen him in Our Friends In The North, he gets called a one note performer by many, watch that and try and say Craig hasn't got any range.
Craig had by far the most impressive career on TV and cinema before playing Bond of any of the actors previous to him.
For TV careers pre-Bond I would rate Sir Roger Moore higher as he was a TV-star with several hit shows under his belt before entering the Bond arena. I rate his career stellar compared to Craig.
He starred in two television shows that are still remembered by the majority, today:
The Saint and The Persuaders!
And Ivanhoe of course.....
