I really liked 2013's The Wolverine. Great use of Japan in some parts of that film. Tao Okamoto, Rita Fukushima & Svetlana Khodchenkova were all quite enticing in it too.

I wasn't all that keen on 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine however.

This one looks intriguing, with an aged Logan.

Not sure about this film, but it sure is elating to see Nic Cage at it again :-)):

I love Nic Cage. I hope he gets big again...this movie is a smaller movie but it seems like a fun movie perfect for Cage!

....and how the hell is this based off real events LMAO

Coming-of-age films are not one of my favorite genres, but this Canadian film looks very good. At the very least this is one of the most hypnotic trailers I've seen in a long while.

A Cure for Wellness looks incredible. I must watch this even though I have no clue what it's about. Wonderful cinematography by Bojan Bazelli. I believe Jason Isaacs stars as well.

I really enjoyed The Wolverine too. In fact, it's probably my favourite X-Men film. I'm glad Mangold is coming back for Logan.

Hugh Jackman has GOT to be Clint Eastwood's son or something! :O

When my son was a little boy, I watched The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. He came into the living room while Eastwood was on the screen, and asked me if that was Wolverine.

At the end of that trailer, I was every bit as mystified about the film, as I was at the beginning. Added to my wanted list.

Is Logan the film that is intended to be Hugh's last Wolverine film? That's the vibe I get from the trailer.

    Intriguing.

At the premier of 'Jack Reacher 2', Tom Cruise was questioned on his upcoming films... meaning 'Mission Impossible 6'. He hinted at an 'insane' stunt, saying that there's a couple of things in this new M:I film that he's been training for a couple of years to be able to do, so that it'll be 'wild for audiences to see it on the screen'.

It hurts me to say this, because I really like Craig and am not particularly fond of Cruise, but: could we please hire him to give some lessons to Eon? He sounds more excited about his next MI film than anyone at Eon has sounded about the next Bond film in a year.

I'd really love for someone - anyone, I'll take a gaffer at this point - to say, "we've got some great ideas for the next one and we can't wait to raise the bar!"

Looks great. There's a certain Mel Gibson flavour to this one, including some scenes that could have come out of an 80's Mad Max effort. I would have preferred if they had used Trent Reznor's original killer 'Hurt' rather than Johnny Cash's more subdued and mellow cover, but I'm nitpicking. Definitely on my watch list.

I can't wait for Logan! And indeed, @bondjames, that's precisely what I said on first glance. Mad Max and Blood Father combined into one, and Hugh Jackman's portrayal is an amalgamation of both Gibson and Eastwood here.

I don't care what it takes, but on top of a sequel to 'Fury Road' with Tom Hardy, I want Miller to direct a solo & final* Mad Max film with Mel Gibson, with the same insane chase scenes as the 2015 film. Seeing him in 'Blood Father' was truly fantastic, the guy has one more Mad Max in him.

    * final film for Gibson, not the franchise as a whole.

There was a Mandrake tv film in 2010. That s all so far I believe.

And a Mandrake serial in the 30s as well :

And according to Wikipedia, the TV movie was made in 1979.

So there were probably two tv films. Not so interested in any of those, but would love to see the old serial.

@DaltonCraigg007, I'd kill to see a last Mad Max Gibson film, but sadly I don't see it happening. Fury Road would have been even more amazing if it was the original there in the role, after so long away. The production of the film was such a long trial that Gibson's time went past, and Miller had to recast. A damn shame, for sure.

Logan looks great. As @bondjames said, very Mad Max-esque. Apocalyptic mixed with survival genre, from the looks of it. Should be great to see Hugh go on one last adventure in the role that's defined so much of his career.

That Logan trailer is hype as F$##!!!

Also...here's my non spoiler review for Jack Reacher which I just came from.

So I saw the movie in a packed theater (but I'm not american so it seems like this movie will again do better overseas) and I ended up getting "Make me" cause they had this Jack themed event for the movie (with Jack Daniels as sponsor) so this was a fun night..but I digress...
In short....if you liked the first you'll like this one.
I liked it. I think I liked it more than the first one. The mystery in the first one was much better but overall this movie is still pretty damn good.
Cruise is good. Sure he's not THE REACHER but he's doing amazing job. He punches hard, he delivers lines great, he shows emtoions great. He has quips and is funny when he needs and he says nothing from time to time.
Cobie Smulders is great in the movie. I even forgot she got famous cause of a comedy show.
There's one actor that appears in 3 scenes overall that's pretty good and I think should've been used more but I don't want to do spoilers (even though I'm not sure it's a spoiler)
There's more "reachery" stuff here, as they try to explain that he's a drifter, a loner that only has a toothbrush and white shirt and what not.
The story is set up nicely. Kind of slow for some maybe but it's nice. What I love about Reacher is that you learn about the story just as much as Reacher knows. So you learn with him and you guess with him.
It's like the first one. The colours of the movie are kinda sad and dark (which idk how to feel about) the story is slow paced, the acting is great, the action is pretty good. A really enjoyable movie.
It's funny, it's heartfelt at times and it's badass.
There were some things that bothered me. Mostly it was why the fight scenes were so edited..
Go and see the movie. The first movie introduced me to Reacher and that's why I'm here. I think this movie will introduce more people to Reacher. It may be even better than the first one. All an all it's a movie that will make you leave the theater with a smile and you'll enjoy it.
  • I'm sure I'm not the only one who was reminded of 'The Last of Us' by the Logan trailer.
Ironically though, when I thought about it, 'X-Men: The Last of Us' would have actually been a pretty appropriate title!

Logan trailer is fantastic though it hurts my head thinking about where it fits in the timelines and which timeline. :-S

Logan looks interesting insofar as it seems more focused on a few characters and their development, instead of the mutant circus of previous mutant films.

The Johnny Cash song sucks though.

As does the song in the A Cure for Wellness trailer.

But I agree, @bondjames, the cinematography is spellbinding.

Well, the 2010 movie doesn't have anything to do with the famous magician :

    I see.

I just checked on youtube, and found the old serial there, with Spanish subtitles. Just search for, "Mandrake, O Magico"

Fantastic!! They should do it even crazier than the 2nd one, just one huge body count as Butler guns down 200+ villains like Stallone in Rambo 4.
