Though it has been running for a little while now, Warner Bros. Pictures has only just announced the commencement of production in New York on the upcoming spin-off/sequel “Ocean’s 8” in which eight women plan and execute a heist in New York during the Met Gala.

Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter star in the Gary Ross directed film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Olivia Milch.

Collaborating with Ross behind the scenes are director of photography Eigil Bryld (“In Bruges,” “Not Fade Away”), production designer Alex DiGerlando (“Beasts of the Southern Wild,” HBO’s “True Detective”), editor Juliette Welfling (“Free State of Jones,” “The Hunger Games”), costume designer Sarah Edwards (“Tower Heist,” Showtime’s “Billions”), and composer Nicholas Britell (“The Big Short,” “Free State of Jones”).

Steven Soderbergh and Jon Kilik are producing. The film will open in June next year.

    Cameron Aims For Glasses-Free 3D “Avatar 2”

Earlier in the year came word that filmmaker James Cameron was working on not two or three but FOUR full sequels to 2009’s “Avatar” with the films currently targeting a release on Christmas Day every 1-2 years between 2018 & 2023.

This weekend, while accepting his admission in the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, Cameron briefly discussed the sequels (via Indiewire and revealed he hopes new tech will eventually allow for glasses-free 3D:

“I’m going to push. Not only for better tools, workflow, high dynamic range (HDR) and high frame rates (HFR) – the things we are working toward. I’m still very bullish on 3D, but we need brighter projection, and ultimately I think it can happen – with no glasses. We’ll get there.”

It was previously indicated Cameron wanted to shoot the films at a high frame rate, though he was only said to be considering the option and hadn’t yet made a decision. Right now it’s also unclear if the films will hit their intended schedule.

There plan 5 movies with Avatar 2 in 2018, Avatar 3 in 2020, Avatar 4 in 2022 and Avatar 5 in 2023. First see then believe, because i think Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 6 wil be in cinema's in 2027at time first Harry Potter book exist 30 years in UK (Released in 1998 in The Netherlands, same year as Titanic released.). On this moment are 5 Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find movies confirmd.

The plot: The film follows the rise of Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien) a CIA black ops recruit under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). The pair is then enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Together the three discover a pattern in the violence leading them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a World War in the Middle East.

You guys should read the Mitch Rapp books if you haven't, by the late great Vince Flynn. They're a great spy filled look into counterterrorism with their fair share of thrills. I can't say Dylan O'Brien is who I imagine as a good Mitch Rapp when I picture the character in my head, but it's clear that the studio picked a younger actor in order to try and make this film into a profitable franchise down the line that will be sustainable, so we'll see how it performs.

Looks interesting, so far, and Keaton as Stan Hurley is great casting, as the character in the books is very much a smart arse in the face of danger, the kind of man that throws up a middle finger to a guy holding a gun in his face.

    http://www.darkhorizons.com/bumblebee-transformers-spin-off-is-coming/
By Garth Franklin Friday, November 11th 2016 10:08 am

Paramount Pictures’ first “Transformers” spin-off is moving closer to fruition with the script for a Bumblebee movie coming in and the studio said to be very happy with the result.

Deadline reports that Christina Hodson (“Shut In”) is the writer who cracked the spinoff and has turned in a script that will make it possible for the studio to have the film ready in time for a June 2018 release.

The next sequel, “Transformers: The Last Knight,” is directed by Michael Bay from a script by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway. That film opens next Summer and the first trailer for it has been classified according to Trailer Track which suggests it will debut imminently – most likely with “Fantastic Beasts” next week as it’s said to be an IMAX trailer.

This spinoff will possible be used to delay official named Transformers 6 to 2021 (and releasing Transformers 7 8 in 2025) who on this moment to be expect in 2020 with Transformers 3 in 2011, Transformers 4 in 2014 and 5 in 2017.

    2007: Transformers
    2009: Transformers 2
    2011: Transformers 3
    2014: Transformers 4
    2017: Transformers 5
    2018: Transformers 6 (Spinoff)
    2021: Transformers 67
    2025: Transformers 78

If Voltron is also Transformers spinoff, mabey we already get 7th movie before 2021.

    Universal Developing A Live-Action “Voltron”
By Garth Franklin Friday, November 4th 2016 1:02 pm

Universal Pictures is developing a live-action film adaptation of the hit animated series “Voltron” with “Watchmen” screenwriter David Hayer to script.

Based on two Japanese anime properties merged into one, the original “Voltron” series aired in the United States from 1984-1985 and became a pop culture phenomena in its own right.

The story follows five young pilots that control giant Lion robots that form into the titular warrior and do battle across the planet Arus. A previous attempt at a film adaptation took place in 2005 with a script by Justin Marks (“The Jungle Book”).

Tom Engelman (“The Chronicles of Riddick,” “The Lone Ranger”) will produce. Currently, the animated “Voltron Legendary Defender” is available on Netflix with a second season set to premiere January 20th.

Jessica Chastain is to star as Jane in Painkiller Jane:

I have a few Painkiller Jane comics from Dynamite, so I have been awaiting this film for a while. While it looks like the Soska sisters are no longer in the directors chair(s), I still have high hopes for this, especially now with the mega talented Jessica Chastain in the title role.

That's right. There was a tv movie first, with Emmanuelle Vaugier, in 2005. Then came the 2007 series with Kristana Loken. And now we have this, hopefully, big budget action thriller.
