@forgotmyusername, Statham is just bald to me. I hate seeing him with hair/wig. Case in point: 'Revolver'. Doesn't work.

I do love Statham and his films, though, and am interested in seeing 'Safe' when I acquire a copy of it.
  • Safe is great film...I was only joking about the wig though but I'd reckon he'd be more Reacher than the lady cruise.

I don't know, Cruise is incredibly badass. Statham has really shown it throughout all of his films - he takes no prisoners - but Cruise's cool level is solidified by his Burj Khalifa stunt in 'MI:GP.'

Here's the 'Pacific Rim' Comic-Con poster. The robots are much, much larger than I originally thought:

And here is the start of the 'RoboCop' viral campaign:

    Pacific Rim sounds delicious.

"An homage to the Japanese monster films when humanity battles Aliens rising from the sea with giant man-operated robots."

Uh, hell yes please, and thank you.

Are we to assume that this will follow the first game, with Fassbender taking on the role of Desmond and possinly Altair too?

Honestly... I don't know what to think. I've never really thought of an AC film in the past and who i'd cast.

@MajorDSmythe, my friend said he read an article online that dealt with everyone complaining, because the film more than likely won't do the game justice, and I can agree. The games are already excellent enough, and as much as I like Fassbender's work, I've never felt that we needed a film, unless they stick to the source material and deliver what the fans want, not some over-the-top junk just to please the masses - the latter route is the most probable.

I'm thinking that maybe they'll jump to Ezio as he seems to be more popular than Altair. I read at another link Fassbender would be Desmond.

    I hope they don't f*ck this up.

As for 'The Hunger Games,' it's such a smart decision that enrages me like crazy: it's all for the money. The books all appear to be the same size, so the need for the last film to be split into two is completely unnecessary, aside from the fact that they want to earn a bigger profit, which they would have either way.

And if I'm still dating the girl I'm with now, that means I get to spend $40 on the same thing than the $20 I would have if they managed to keep it as one film. Thanks, Hollywood.

Jumping straight to Ezio? Oh god, I hope not.

I've looked on the IMDB and someone suggested Wentworth Miller for Altair. I had to google him (the name sounded famillair, but I couldn't put a face to the name), and yes could see him as Altair.

@largo2, I have not, but everyone keeps recommending it to me! It's just been sitting there in my Netflix Play Now queue, waiting to be watched. I'll have to watch it very soon.

They have a chance to improve AC1 here. Make it more intresting (don't have him pick pocketing people for half the film), and fix his accent.

Ezio is more popular and AC 2 is more cinematic so I'm thinking they might jump straight to him.

I haven't got a problem with them making those changes (so long as they keep it as Altair in 1191), but skipping the plot and setting in favour of those in AC2 is where I do have a problem. If that's what they do, then I don't see any point in me watching this film, when I was more interested in the first game. All the supposed deepness of AC2 can't match the time and setting of AC.

If they're gonna do this, then they should do it propperly by starting with AC and feature Altair & Desmond.

I agree it should be Altair, but I actually wouldn't mind if they started with Ezio. I prefer the Italy setting, and Ezio is a more likeable hero.

Although i like the look of Gangster Squad? My opinion of Sean Penn has gone down alot, due to his outburst regarding the Great Britain and the Falkland Islands.

So is Gangster squad essentially a bunch of cops who go rogue and form a hit team to get Cohen?

Pretty much. They aren't 'rogue,' per se, but they go off the books and don't consider themselves as 'cops,' yet they still hold the authority, all so they can take down photog-kneecap-kicking Sean Penn.

This is your kind of film then. It's like Munich in old LA. A bunch of men banding together to take down a troublemaking person/s.

Sounds about right, though I get a more 'Public Enemies' feel to it. Still looks like a fantastic film, especially the long shot of the gangsters shooting through the movie screen at Brolin, and then they step through it and keep firing. I've always been a fan of long takes in movies, and while that necessarily doesn't count as one, it's nice to see a gun being shot for longer than a second or two without a cut to another angle.

Speaking of long shots, I need to watch 'Children of Men' again soon.

I love the cinematography of the film. Just from those shots alone. I love noir type films, and it really has the noir feel to it in the seedy corruption of old LA.

The trailer does have so many cool shots, I hope most of them are retained for the final film. I like seeing Gosling walk through the door, and someone throws a shotgun his way and he catches it.

Edward Woodward from (the good, original, no Nick Cage) Wicker Man and Hot Fuzz?

Anyway never seen this TV series, but the film sounds cool and I like Washington, so I'll go and see it.

I knew who Denzel would be playing before I even clicked the link. I swear he hardly never plays anything but an investigator/officer/agent any more. Pathetic.
