Not interested in any John Wick rip-offs starring wrestlers but I understand why someone would be.

5th Hunger Games novel in 2025 and then you mabey expect release of the movie in 2028 but no the movie is already set for November 2026 release date again directed by Francis Lawrence.

Whyle 4th novel/5th movie was first prequel of first Hunger Games novel/movie that honor now going to new novel. Title: Sunrise on the Reaping

After “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” made $337.4 million at the global box office on a $100 million budget, it would come as little surprise if Lionsgate wouldn’t be already planning an adaptation of a newly announced novel.

“Hunger Games” franchise author Suzanne Collins has revealed that a new book in the saga, one titled “Sunrise on the Reaping,” is in the works and will be released next year – March 18th 2025.

This fifth novel in Collins’ bestselling series is a mid-quel set forty years after the events of ‘Ballad’ and just over thirty years before the original “The Hunger Games”.

Events will unfold during the Second Quarter Quell, the game that was won by Woody Harrelson’s fan-favorite character Haymitch Abernathy in the films. Collins tells the Associated Press:

“With ‘Sunrise on the Reaping,’ I was inspired by David Hume’s idea of implicit submission and, in his words, ‘the easiness with which the many are governed by the few’.

The story also lent itself to a deeper dive into the use of propaganda and the power of those who control the narrative. The question ‘Real or not real?’ seems more pressing to me every day.”

“The Hunger Games” film series is the twentieth highest-grossing franchise of all time, generating $3.3 billion for Lionsgate.

That "other" Toho classic from 1954 has been the subject of a 4K restoration and it will be released to US theaters starting in July.

At least the humor will be on point here! That one clip alone got a couple of good laughs out of me. I'm happy it'll clearly be R rated too.

It looks like there maybe a serious tone to it as well as the humor, the original film got that balance spot on, one of the reason the first film is so good.

I still need to see the original and its sequel but I've only heard the most glowing praise for the two of them.

Good to see Spielberg going back to this genre, I love Close encounters of the Third Kind. E.T. has aspects I don;'t like though it is a masterpiece in direction, some of the shots in that film are outstanding.

HERE Trailer (2024) Tom Hanks, Robin Wright

They still have not quite nailed the CGI for de aging.

Young Tom did remind me of Hanks Big era.

In their minor defense, the CGI for the movie trailer might not be the final product yet. I'll still take Zemeckis over James Cameron, though. At least he uses CGI to tell an original story, more often than not.

One close up of Robin Wright reminded me of Polar Express.

Yes, it just doesn't look right! I was disappointed to here Zemeckis is no longer going to do remake of 'Yellow Submarine' , I was intrigued to see that, but this film doesn't look like it's worth seeing at all!

Yeah I liked Old I even bought it, M. Night's four horseman of the apocalypse film was mixed, After Earth was dreadful.

    M. Night is still one of the more interesting film makers out there, I rewatched The Sixth Sense recently, still a great movie.
