For those in the New York City area, the Film Forum is marking Marlon Brando’s centennial year with a two-week retrospective.
    Web_1213_Brando100.jpg

Of course, any discussion of ON THE WATERFRONT ….

Interestingly, John Garfield – another “method actor” did something just like this six-years earlier in the classic (and very influential) film noir FORCE OF EVIL (1948). The biggest difference is that actress Beatrice Pearson is a lot better looking than Rod Steiger!

How is the Metrograph @LucknFate ? How large are the screening rooms, concession prices, etc..

I've never been there, but they are showing IKIRU (1952) next week and I'm thinking of going.

I love it, one big screening room, which is worth admission (17 for non members I think) and you get to pick seats, there's a nice balcony option. The other smaller theater room is the other option, you'll know if your movie is showing there when you choose seats before checkout. I would say that is hit or miss, if you really want to watch something in a room with people, it's tight but not horrible. There's also a restaurant upstairs (does not serve in the theater). I haven't eaten there in years. Enjoy if you go @Dwayne Concessions are glass bottle drinks, "fresh" popcorn already bagged on a shelf. Not so fresh, but tasty usually. I don't for concessions there so I'm not sure of pricing. My friend got popcorn but not sure how much. Probably too much.

Seems to me Jenna Ortega is stuck in fantasy and horror movies. Here's the latest one :

Museum of the Moving Image: ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE
Alamo Drafthouse: GODZILLA vs. MEAGLON :D
Film Forum: An "AI" series of films including ALIEN, 2OO1, etc....

New trailer of Den of Thieves 2

Do you think Top Gun - Top Gun 2 was long, After 37 years Amsterdamned 2 (1988 - 2025)

December 2025 in Dutch cinema's. The first movie from 1988 also get VS release and first Hitman Bodyguard playing in The Netherlands and has some action scene in the style of first Amsterdamnd. I expect Dutch Filmworks going to release this movie, but it turn out there choose falls on Splendid films a Benelux/German company.

Moost interesting of 2025 (some movies of 2024 have Dutch release in 2025):

Mission Impossible 8. I hope on new Bluray 2 disc release of 7th movie, but iam afraid it won't, inspecialy now it looks like in The Netherlands we won't get 2 Disc release of Gladiator 2.

    534570.cf38cf2.jpg?width=1200&ratio=&quality=70
Amsterdamned 2. The Dutch thriller movie from 1988 movie (Who also get release in VS) get sequel in 2025. Dick Maas & Huub Stapel are back... Succes of The Hitman's Bodyguard movie's must have something to do with it too. The first The Hitman's Bodyguard playing in Amsterdam/Denhaag and have some style reference to first Amsterdamned.

    Mickey 17
    Greenland: Migration
    The Amateur
    Now You See Me 3
    Paddington 3
    How To Train Your Dragon

Den of Thieves 2. With 2 Dutch elements: Dutch actres and Dutch Boxer.

    Jurassic World Rebirth
Avatar 3. Hope Disney Fox re-consider to stil release a Dutch version with Dutch subtitels of 4 disc 3D release that there not release on this moment.
    Bad Guys 2

    Better Man

    Ballerina
Sauvages (Swiss-Belgium French made Stopmotion animated Movie)
    Flight Risk

    Mr. K

Released in 2024, Bluray in 2025:

Argylle. The movie flops i know, but stil strange that Universal not have confirmd a Bluray yet.
    Megalopolis
    Mufasa: The Lion King
Sonic 3. Stil haven't collect Sonic 2 yet.

Gladiator 2. Sadley enough it looks like again (Mission Impossible 7, Babylon) Paramount/DFW deside again to go for 1 Disc release with no extra's (or mabey Audiocommentary if that already be case) :(.

Moost other interesting in 2025 to buy on BD on this moment:

Fast Charlie. Released on 4 December 2024, starring Pierce Brosnan.

    Twisters aka Twister 2.
Drive-Away Dolls. For my Coen Brothers collection.
    Transformers One
Where the Crawdads Sing. From 2022, finaly get Bluray in 2024.
The Marsh King's Daughter. Also earlier movie who get Bluray in 2024.
IF. Shame that is not released under that title as in Dutch cinema's, but under the Belgium title.
    Inside Out 2
The Garfield Movie. Sony returns earlier 2024, but stil not everything go well.
    The Watchers
    Trap
    Wild Robot
    Dead Pool & Wolverine
    Love Lies Bleeding
    Kung Fu Panda 4.

And i was intrest in release of Autumn And The Black Jaguar till moment i discover that Bluray (and the dvd) not include Dutch subs but only Dutch, English , French Audio and only French subs. Strange, because get cinema release of English version with Dutch subs.

    In 2024 collecting 5 movies from 2023, 3 from 2022 and 1 from 2021 released in 2022.

I am somewhat superheroed out but this looks promising; I love the 60s anesthetic.

Coming from someone who is also “superheroed out” and knows well that F4 has had an awful movie history, I am hopeful for this. I also love the 1960s stuff; I think period piece settings at least entice me more than just another modern-set hero film.

... so the Fantastic Four also appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. Was that before or after that other "Fab Four"? :))

It's like Prime and Netflix are in a fierce competition to see who can make the most soulless, forgettable garbage.

Some of it is good. My wife and I are in to the government/spy/military shows such as The Night Agent and Reacher

Reacher is pure dad entertainment to me - nothing award-winning but very easy to enjoy.
