When I saw him pose for a photo with the origami, along with him being excited about sharing some exciting information, I knew this would be the case. This movie is shaping up to be my most anticipated of the next couple of years.
Although, come to think of it, if Ryan Gosling plays the lead, he probably will play a hardboiled detective after all.
Even though Scott is producing the movie, it will be directed by someone else.
Not sure it will work.
Prometheus on the other hand worked and is a wonderful movie because Ridley Scott did it himself.
Neither do I, and I'd never wish for a sequel to this, but since we're getting one, of course I'll end up seeing it. The cast and crew are certainly helping, as well, and now it's shaping up to be incredible, I think. We'll know next year! It starts shooting in June or July of this year. A (teaser) trailer around the end of the year would be wonderful.
Prometheus was incredible imho. Love it, and can't wait for the sequel next year.
Blade Runner being my absolute favorite film of all time, I'm in the camp that really wasn't asking for a sequel, but since it's happening anyway am happy with how it's shaping up given the talent attached.
The original score by Vangelis also happens to be my favorite score of all time. I'm not so certain that BR2 will necessarily have a completely different visual style and tone from the original. If it does, then I guess it's okay for the music to take a different approach as well, but one thing's for certain: they are going to need one seriously talented composer to step up to the task. Anything less than legendary will be a disappointment for me. I have a number of favorite composers who are still active today, but I honestly don't know who could possibly write music for the world of Blade Runner as moving, as beautiful, and as perfect as the original.
Anyway:
Mel Gibson looks better the older he gets, but I´m afraid the trailer doesn´t do much for me.
For fans of 'Blade Runner,' any ideas on who you'd like to see compose the score for BR2?
The guy who did the soundtrack for 'Sicario'.
Marc Streitenfeld, naturally.
That might be something.
Villeneuve and Deakins involvement is definitely the in for me and I am now quite looking forward to this, incidently I've got Bladerunner on it's way to me as we speak, I thought it was time I got the Blu ray.
As for Prometheus I don't get it, I'll echo what some have already said it just didn't know what it wanted to be, Alien is one of my favourite films and I admire Bladerunner but Ridley hasn't made a true great film in decades and no Titanic in sandles is not a masterpeice.
Actually the story is very clear, but perhaps not after one viewing.
