A mere two months to the next Star Trek movie! How fabulous is that?

Really? I'm not following movies as much as I should lately, didn't realize it was so close already!

    @doubleoego @Creasy47 @DarthDimi @MajorDSmythe

    This looks very cool:

How old is Stephen Lang now? The guy's still a proper badass at his age!

That actually does look it it has a neat concept. I remember Lang from the 2000-2001 Fugitive tv series. He played the one-armed man, and though he has gained an arm, and 15 years, he still looks like someone you you wouldn't want to mess about with.

Very neat concept, meant to share the trailer here a few days back. Unfortunately, it looks like they revealed too much, but I'm more than interested still.

@fire_and_ice, I made a point to NOT post that here, figured I'd do the forums a favor and spare as many of you as I could from seeing any more from this inevitable train wreck.

@Creasy47 funny you should say that, midway through watching I thought I will never be able to unsee that abomination. It truly is beyond awful...

They can edit it however they want and try and show off as much unseen footage as possible, but it doesn't alter how truly horrid this movie will be. I can already see this being on the same level as the recent 'Fantastic Four' in terms of reception/box office.

I would rather watch the latest F4 100 more times than seeing that vomit of a film even once.

Good thing is, the trailer didn´t make me want to watch it :-). I think it never happened to me before that I didn´t want to watch a trailer.

Is Chris Hemsworth deliberately trying to sabotage his career? Kirks dad to the MIghty Thor to this. :-O

I watched the first one. That was more than enough.

I'm so disheartened by the wave of upcoming films. We are treated to more comic book CGI or some sequel or some funky remake of something that should have been left alone.
Hell, the distributors got the studios convinced that this is what the public wants to see (and the Chinese market--WTH are they making films for anyway??)
I digress, its not about making good films, its about MAKING MONEY. I won't slam the executives for making a business decision. Heck, they can lose their jobs if they green light something that tanks. And these clowns got too many ex- wives and kids in private schools, they need their jobs.

I will keep my eye out for a good horror yarn or a suspense thriller.

In France: Suicide Squad on 3rd august, Jason Bourne on 10th august, Ghostbusters on 10th august, Star Trek Beyond on 17th august. Yeah, that abomination stands no chance. Major flop incoming.

As would I, though I never bothered with F4, figured it's probably awful, and I wasn't a big fan of the two movies that preceded it, either (though it is a reboot).

Regarding F4 there is a decent Josh Trank film in there somewhere, I wonder how much Trank shot and is there a Watchable Trank cut?

If they make a second, I will still see it. But please recast Doom at the very least! Why can t they get him right???

It baffles me in some Comic book movie adaptations why film makers are reluctant to portray the character accurately, tweaking is one thing though some outright change the character.

In all honesty, I liked the 2005 Fantastic Four film and its sequel Silver Surfer. But, when the trailer of the new one came along, I already had it with them so I never bothered with the reboot. I don't think a sequel is in the cards. But, I sense the inevitable that they will be the primary focus of Marvel's Phase Four.

What baffles me with these adaptations that fail and manage to get a second chance is: why don't they focus on new characters? Take Batman: I know that his arch nemesis is the Joker so he will always play a prominent role, but after having so many different iterations of the character, doesn't anyone want to focus on giving an incredible performance to a villain nobody would expect?

Still better and more accurate than Michael B. Jordan's casting in the role. ;)

    Is it because he's black?

Partially, as well as making Johnny Storm the adopted child in the family... I don't think that was in the source material.

Yeah, could be that, too. I haven't seen the film, nor do I have plans to see it anytime soon. Reed's casting was also bad, and yet people complain about Ioan Gruffudd.
