    RAMBO: LAST BLOOD

I'm sorely disappointed. There's zero content in this film. It literally has nothing to offer; Whatever the goods this film thinks it has to give, they're too little too late. I'm sorry but this is, at best, a Rambo spoof. Good thing I wasted no money on this one in theatres.

It was for first time the Spectre, but i didn't enjoyed very much.

The Force Awakens, in preparation for The Rise of Skywalker. I intended to see the last one today in the theater, but I realized that I had a lot to do before Christmas. So, instead of going to the theater, I stayed home, did a lot of what I need to do, and revistied the first movie of the latest trilogy. And yes, it's a retread of the original movie, but I liked it anyway. Next, The Last Jedi, probably tomorrow.

Last night my daughter and I watched the 1980 Special Edition of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. She's seen the 1998 Director's Cut before at a cinema showing but I wanted to show her the version I grew up with.

She kept complaining that it was boring although I think she liked seeing the inside of the mothership.

That is funny. I loved it as a kid, but now I find it boring as hell.

My thoughts during this train wreck of a film: "Stop getting Agatha Christie wrong!"

Murder on the Orient Express (1974)

Was really into this one after I saw the new version. Agatha Christie done right.

The remake is bland and quite appalling in comparison to the Sidney Lumet Masterpiece. Branagh is on a bit of a ego trip in the 2017 version. I do own both films though I am a big fan of whodunnits.

I have low expectations for Branagh's Death on the Nile, I will buy it.

The original had Lois Chiles when she was bloody glorious, so that will never be matched my first Bond woman, it took me several years before I understood the Dr. Goodhead joke.

    WHERE EAGLES DARE
    "Broadsword calling Danny Boy!"
My annual watch of this firm favourite. Surprisingly, it's not on TV much this Xmas, but I just have to watch it this time of year. Never fails to entertain me.
A shout out for the legendary stunt co-ordinator Yakima Canutt, who did all those early John Wayne westerns, one of the reasons for Clint Eastwood signing on for this, he does sterling work, especially on that cracking cable car set piece.
And that Ron Goodwin theme is one of my favourites. Love how it launches into it in the opening titles, after we hear the plane screaming into view! Great war movie, great spy movie!

The best horror film, of all time. The cast that is, and I say this as someone who loves horror films, too good for horror, the memorable deaths and the score that is nothing short of chilling. 10/10, A+ or whatever top rating, The Omen gets it.

Not even Kanye west interrupting the film to say that The Exorcist is better, could stop The Omen.

That is a great film. Tossup for me between that and The Exorcist; tough choice there. But good stuff!

I definately would have stuck with Lois Chiles over Mia Farrow

ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW (Randy Moore, 2013)

Shot at Disneyland/Disneyworld in secrecy and put together in Korea, far from Disney s lawyers. Disney decided to just ignore it, hoping it wouldn t get any attention. Pretty bad in some ways, but it has its qualities. I enjoyedmost of it.

Notice that this reviewer calls the director Roger Moore.

Dracula 1958 Hammer Horror's finest moment IMO, this is the first Horror film I ever saw when I was probably way too young to watch it. I subsequently watched every Hammer Dracula/Vampire film shortly after.

Love them both but my favourite horror film has to be 1977's Suspiria.

On another note, rewatched The Good Shepherd last night. Great spy film, remains a favourite.

    Vertigo (1958)

Finally got around to upgrading my DVD of Vertigo (which makes an unfortunate jump midway – making 5 mins or so of the film missing) with a better quality iTunes download. Originally I planned to write a longer review based on my viewing of the film, but at the end the only thing I was left thinking was: they don't make them like this anymore. What a film!

One of the better big screen adaptions of Christie, the excellent cast drives the film and makes multiple revists of the film rewarding.

A Christmas story and on her majesties secret service

It’s Christmas time so we each picked one Christmas classic

A Christmas Story: Honestly I love this film my one tiny issue is I feel the ending should be getting the gun as that is the main arc of the story I don't mind the coda.... but still a nice movie that makes everyone reflect on their one Christmas (for me it was when I got n64 and Goldeneye... or when I got the Wii and Goldeneye.... or when I got a new steel guitar this year.. wow I have been blessed)

On Her Majesties Secret Service... I don't know what to say about this film other then I love it and yet each year the glaring issues smack me a bit harder...

Teresa fidalgo is a woman who died and then people said her ghost wandering around. Later on, different stories of Teresa fidalgo can be seen. If you search it on internet different kind of stories, events and blooded pictures will show up. A woman came up in the search with white clothes and scary eyes. She is like a mystery box.

    Inception

For me this is Nolan's best. An incredible achievement in all areas of filmmaking. Original and groundbreaking. Wonderful acting especially from Di Caprio. Also has an impressive score from Hans Zimmer. And as for the homage to OHMSS....wow!

Anyone who doesn't think Nolan would make an amazing Bond film need their heads examined.

For whatever reason I had never seen this one; while I'm a bit over the zombie genre, I really enjoyed it. It's creepy and scary but also thought provoking and plausible.

The concept of creating the illusion of one continuous shot is very effective, it was based on a true crime.

It'c certainly very effective, and Hitchcock was only limited by he length of the film camera magazines. Even with those limitations, the way he did it was great.

It was also partly based on a play, wasn't it? Not just the the real-life murder case?

Is it weird I started 2019 on a movie I couldn’t hear because Amanda was talking to one of her friends loudly and now I am ending the year on virtually the same note?

I just watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, great flick.
But wow, seeing those delightful shots of Cliff Booth driving vehicles to beautiful music, tell me that Tarantino can't direct the hell out of a Bond movie. That's what's Bond is missing. Lavish shots of him driving around. Why is it in this movie and not Bond?
