Pierce Brosnan to star in sci-fi thriller 'Youth'.

The project is set is in a future not far from now. "Renewal" has become the world’s hottest (and most expensive) commodity — a procedure to rewind your body’s biological clock back to its prime. Joel (Brosnan), an ad-tech engineer, is about to retire at age 70, after a lengthy career. Not wanting to lose him, his company pays for him and his wife Alice to Renew — a luxury promising a second chance.

That reeks of lots of digital de-aging.

    @boldfinger Thankfully...
Alice emerges from the operation in her 20s, but for Joel, the procedure goes tragically wrong. Rather than make him younger, his aging begins accelerating rapidly, and his remaining years evaporate into mere weeks. Trapped in a decaying body, and watching his 45-year marriage disintegrate, Joel becomes desperate enough to force another, more dangerous procedure. Uncovering the dark origins of the technology along the way, Joel must somehow stay alive long enough to reveal to the world what is happening, before it is too late.

So I imagine they can cast a younger actress as Brosnan's love interest, to limit the amount of de-aging needed.

Not unexpected, but we Beatle fans will have to wait another year for Peter Jackson’s “Let It Be” film.

    https://variety.com/2020/film/news/beatles-get-back-peter-jackson-delayed-1234633265/

While no reason was given (at least in the article) for the delay, I wonder if COVID-19 projections played a roll, since this was originally to be given a full theatrical release in September. On the other hand, films of this nature, with the rare exception of the Queen bio-pic, typically get a short theatrical run and are then moved to streaming and DVD/Blu-Ray markets fairly quickly. So, there may be other reasons.

True. I didn t even get to see the Nick Cave film before it was suddenly gone. Haven t seen it on any streaming service that I have access to, either. Too bad.

OK. According to “The Wrap” website, the delay in the Beatles’ film is actually part of a larger re-schedule being done by Disney, as “The One and Only Ivan” and “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” have been either moved to streaming (Disney+) or had their opening pushed back.

    https://www.thewrap.com/peter-jackson-the-beatles-documentary-2021-disney/

As I stated, this move is not totally unexpected (IMO) – provided Disney has decided to do a big theatrical push for this film. In addition, there have been surprisingly few details leaked in “Beatle press” circles (😊) about any work being done on the accompanying box set (remix formats, outtakes, etc.…), that one would have expected by now.

This sounds like it could be either one of the best dramas on film in recent times, or boring as hell.
Part of me thinks it´s a pity it´s about Herman J. and not Tom ;-).

I hadn´t even heard anything about Peter Jackson making a Beatles film until now. But that may also have to with me not really being into The Beatles.
But I repeatedly thought about re-watching TLOTR during the recent weeks ;-).

@boldfinger I'll give Fincher the benefit of the doubt, given how great his Facebook movie turned out to be in 2010. ;)

I went from having no interest in watching it to ranking it in my top 3 favorite films of that year.

First time I hear that Dune has been shooting in Norway. I had to check out where, and they shot a scene with Chalamet at the western tip of Norway, Stad. I have been crossing by that place onboard a ship several times, and there were always tremendous waves there.

Michael Mann is back: his long awaited Ferrari is finally moving forward, with Hugh Jackman as Enzo Ferrari.

The film will chart the summer of 1957 when all the forces in Ferrari’s life – which were often as combustible and volatile as the iconic race cars he built – collided.

@JamesBondKenya Funnily enough, Christian Bale was attached to Mann's film for a while. But the film took so long to get made, Bale went on to be in Ford v Ferrari instead. Can't blame him as that film was one of my favorites from 2019.

Ho! Goosebumpsall over at the prospect of Michael Mann finally getting ointo gear again!
I´m having kind of a Michael Mann phase, I finally started to enjoy Insider and Ali, and I even bought The Jericho Mile, which is awesome btw.

Hopefully that Hitman´s Wife´s Bodyguard poster will not be officially released without the "z" ;-).

People write all kinds of things, but I read back then that Bale didn´t want to do the film because he supposedly had to gain a lot of weight for the role, and he was quoted that he didn´t want to take on the health risk of that anymore. That was a few years before he played Dick Cheney...
If I am not mistaken, Mann´s project was initially titled "Ford vs Ferrari". I wonder if he had the same story in mind at the time.
