Someone on the Hitman forums pointed out that they are looking forward to the inevitable Easter eggs. IO is big on fun and tongue-in-cheek Easter eggs. One suggestion was to have some of 47's gadgets hanging around Q's lab (rubber duck, electrocution phone, etc...).

I am still beaming with this news. Hitman is my favourite video game franchise.

Will do. As you said, it would be great if there was some gambling segments in the game. That's why I would have liked Rockstar, I feel GTA would have been a brilliant template for a Bond game; pop into a casino and do some gambling when you please. Get cool cars and drive them how you like, complete with gadgets.

I think an open world Bond, in theory, would be an interesting experience. However, I feel like the Rockstar blueprint wouldn't quite work for Bond as a whole. I can't imagine the whole Bond story taking place in one massive location. I suppose they could break it into smaller locations to allow for a bit of globetrotting, but that's why I think Hitman's open-ended environments and mission structure will allow for a more cohesive Bond story.

Yeah, my thought was several separate smaller open world locales for Bond to tool around in and fly between.
  • Surely the name will be rIsicO.

I thought NTTD would be Risico.

    Or Property of a Lady.

    Or Hildebrand Rarity.

    Oh well.

With EON involved, I cannot imagine this not coming out in 2022 for the 60'th. IO are pretty fast at development based on their turnaround times with the Hitman series. Add to the fact Hitman 3 seemingly has no post launch content like Hitman 2 did as they have no season pass so they will likely be all hands on deck for Bond once Hitman 3 releases in January.

I imagine the first we will get a glimpse is E3 next summer.

No season pass yet, anyway. More content or not, they'll still be supporting it, but I'd imagine that most of the front end work is done by now, so hopefully they're full steam ahead on this new Bond project.

Which sounds a bit like the Casino Royale Secret Cinema! I was dashing back and forth from Madagascar to Miami all evening :D

    Sounds awesome.

This game will have a unique name, independent of anything Fleming that's remained unused, I believe.

i never thought this day would come.. or at least so soon... i am a very happy fat man at the moment lol

i am curious though, and forgive me if the question has already been asked - i am not as regular on these boards as i used to be...

but when would you like to see this game set? Present Day, or Cold War era?

I am fine with either, but the idea of a Hitman style 007 game set during the Cold War era of the 50s and 60s sounds too delicious to not consider it.. although, if it were to keep with film cannon, it would be fun to see Bond set out on missions, leading to the the eventual kills of Dryden and Fisher.. but i doubt we'll see that.. i have a feeling this game will be set within it's own universe so to speak, and wont connect with the books or films - which is fine.

@Risico007 i saw your question earlier about the turn around on games... if it wasn't answered i can offer my 2 cents on it...... typically, a game from conception to completion takes about 2 - 3 years.. it depends on the size of the company making it as well.... from what i gather, i imagine that IO isn't going to reinvent the wheel with a brand new engine.. i suspect they'll essentially take the Hitman mechanics and mold 007 around that - not a complete port or reskinning - just taking what works and adopting it.. Hitman is already so close to 007 as it is, i don't feel like they'll need to do very much from the ground up - beyond the obvious of course (story, voice acting, assets etc.).. i look for the game to be released in 2022 for the 60th anniversary.

If they are going for their own original continuity for Bond then I wouldn't mind them going for a Cold War approach set in the 50's/60's.

IO are using an existing engine, their Glacier engine.

I guess it is for the best that Ubisoft didn't pick up the licene. Splinter Cell is their baby, and they don't seem interested in making a new one. Why would they care about a licence that they are only renting?

I hope the development will not be rushed to release the game in 2022 for the 60th anniversary.

Hello gentlemen. As I promised, here's a very quick and simple edition of Spectre's Gunbarrel over the one from Project 007. It was quite tricky to make it work as the Gunbarrel is never static at all, but it was quite fun.

    EDIT:
Also, there's a download link on the description for you guys to download a version with Hans Zimmer's NTTD soundtrack. I made it with Universal and MGM logos as well.

And if you guys like gaming and stuff, subscribe me - I'll be posting a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 content as soon as it releases. :D

My Hope is that, you can either create a character, or he is at least a traditional looking bond. You never know these days what can happen. Maybe create a version off of Flemings visions.

I also am looking forward to the tonal shift. I'd imagine this will be a little more serious than hitman.

I love the funny moments in Hitman, dont get me wrong!

Hitman's dark humour would fit Bond well I think.

Overall, I really won't mind if they use Hitman as a complete blueprint. Mix Absolution's Tomb Raider-esque gunplay and adventure mechanics with the stealth and open-ended levels from the recent games and you'd have the perfect formula for Bond.

I think since we have some time I am thinking of replaying every bond game from n64 goldeneye - project 007 which means I will finally play and beat James Bond 007 for game boy (as well as the other game boy and NDs games) and 007 racing

I figured by the time I finish 007 legends project 007 will be out

Completely agree - you do indeed love it! Funnily enough, that was the only Bond game I beat (twice). It might shock people to learn, that while I had GE64 when it was released, I could never beat Cradle. I'm not very good at games I'm afraid. It's unfortunate, with these hands.

I've always thought this too, but as a film. Just to see Bond take out Mr Fez! Cool sniper scene? Check.

Bond needs to go to Tibet and Marrakech. Zhong Mae could make for an interesting character.

It’s ok I can’t beat the second mission on 007 racing do you have any idea how humiliating that is

Plus if one more person says beating Ruk in Bloodstone on the highest difficulty is easy I swear to god because I have followed walkthroughs and still get killed so either my game is glitched or I don’t know lol

But yeah I am wondering if I should start with James Bond the duel and replay that and work my way up also Calvin released his goldeneye review but didn’t say whether he was going to Review The world is not enough for the N64 or James Bond 007 for the game boy as in my opinion there are still 6 games he can review
    James Bond the duel
Janes bond 007 for the game boy
The world is not enough n64
    Quantum of solace PS2
    Bloodstone Nds
    Goldeneye NDS

I just still can’t believe we are getting a new game
