Acknowledgement must go to the US Intelligence and military communities (plus, of course, those of their allies, lest we forget) for their work over the last ten years in hunting down Bin Laden, but also - and more importantly - for their tireless wider work in nullifying the threat of al-Qaeda worldwide...
Not to be a downer of course though, I'm hugely glad they finally got him. :-D Though part of me wishes they'd take his head and put it on a pole in front of the White House, à la Oliver Cromwell :p

Stop with the hatorade j7, I pWn3d Bin Ladden! Listening to you, it looks like you hate the Democrats more than the terrorists.
How it may have looked behind the scenes at the "War Room" the other day:
Begin at 5:50.
Wow. Not that I didn't thoroughly enjoy your bin Laden joke or disagree with your happiness over his death in any way, shape, or form, but I find your Obama bashing to be un-American and in poor taste. I totally hope Obama gets re-elected as a result of this. I guess you must be a Republican.
While I certainly agree that our S.E.A.L.S did a great job in physically ridding the world of a genuine menace, his death was a team effort. Our intelligence community did exactly what Obama promised to everyone regardless of political affiliation that he would make a priority in his campaign, which was to locate and neutralize bin Laden. Something that Bush failed to do when our troops have him dead to rights in Tora Bora, something he promised us he would do after 9/11. When the time came, he failed to give the order and our people who were in Tora Bora have publicly told us that. "Mission accomplished" my ass. Worst U.S president ever and his father a close second. When the time came again, Obama did not fail to give the order. He does not deserve all the credit, but he was the one who risked our ties with the Pakistani's and betted correctly that our intelligence was right that he was there. Whether you agree with his politics or not, he is our commander-in-chief and deserves respect for helping get the job done. And the funniest thing is, Bush, Cheney, Limbaugh and all the Republicans were united in recognizing his role and giving the credit where it was due.
Sir Henry
I am still there, I am not banned!
Furthermore, I wasn't the only person in the Bin Laden thread over there who felt that Bin Laden should had been kept alive and made to suffer for his actions.
Stop spreading rumours!

sorry J7 for not getting back to you sooner but I've just returned from the hospital after I saw your last link - my ribs popped out - because I was laughing soooooooooo much.
Anyway I'll leave you alone because I have to bow down to your superior wit and your magnanimous character, my brain really can't cope with your cunning as I believe you studied cunning at Oxford under Professor Cunning Fox.
And, regarding the whole "Obama didn't kill Osama" post going around, not just here but on Facebook... he kind of, sort of did. I know he didn't personally repel into the room and shoot him in the eye, but he gave the order, instructed the team to violate Pakistan's sovereignty, offered more resources to our troops on the ground in case of a clash with Pakistani forces, upped the number of targeted drone strikes in the region, engaged in intelligence gathering operations... and didn't need to torture anyone to do it. He promised in his campaign that he would bring Osama to justice and would enter Pakistan, if necessary, to carry out the job, but was deemed "naive" and didn't understand global politics. The Bush Administration went from wanting OBL "dead or alive" to not being the least bit concerned about him. Interesting.
I believe it's not just a victory for President Obama, but for the entire country. =]
Also, I think it was our beloved Tea Party urging for the shut down of our government, despite not being aware of what those consequences would be (no military pay, no tax refund, closed state parks, etc.). Claiming the President was debating if he wanted to pay the military or not makes absolutely no sense whatsoever when we're engaged in two and a half wars. He was urging both parties, and personally holding talks, to come to an agreement on the budget. And, they did. A sloppy one, but an agreement.
The officials say it was unclear who the material belonged to, or whether Bin Laden viewed it. Bin Laden's son and two other adult male couriers lived at the compound, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss matters of intelligence.
The pornography was confiscated in addition to a handwritten journal, five computers, ten hard drives and 110 thumb drives seized at the site, which are now being analyzed by a CIA-led team.
well.... since we won't get to see Bin Laden's death photos, can we look at his porn?!?
:-))
Bin Laden is no different then say Jim Baker and Jimmy Swaggart.
Their lives are nothing more than a lies.
And their mindless followers will do their bidding for them.
What a JOKE!!!

Very strange. Good riddance! Good job Seals. "The fight goes on and on and on.....
You got to know they knew he was there and they were paid off to look the other way!
The Land Rovers? It is a wealthy part of Pakistan and if you take a look lots of mountains - so 4x4s would not be uncommon. The thing is everyone loves their Toyota 4x4s over there so a Land Rover would be the odd choice.
Can the anti-Pakistan clan here finally give some sort of sympathy to these people who are the front line on the war on terror and not passing cynical judgements by sitting on their over-sized sofa with their laptops watching porn and eating whole cows in one go:
