I think that would show the series is progressing with the times and I think it would still appease most fans desire to stay true to the character.
It's a shame Colin Salmon has already been in Bond, he would be the perfect choice for M. I remember he narrated a Skyfall documentary, and it was striking how strong a voice the guy has
M: Ken Stott (Sugestion since i have seen Man Up, i whant to see how a bit of BBC/Tv series actor as M will be)
Quatermaster: Felicity Jones. Stil i prefer she be second Q for two movies minimal besides Ben Wishaw. Or mabey have her with another younger girl or male who later pop up at mission.
Felix: David Oyelowo (Already whant as Felix since The Paperboy)
Eva Alexandera (Alex) Moneypenny: Dominique McElligott. (In earlier idea she half sister of Eve Moneypenny / sister of Bill Tanner Jr ''Rory Kinnear'' sharing same ''Samantha Bond''mother. Bill Tanner ''Michael Kitchen'' is her father who is kild in Bond 21 we don't get. Eve father is Charles ''Colin Salmon''' Robinson.).
I also like idea having local for one/two movies with or without Felix.
My choices would be..
M: Idris Elba ( Yeah I know people wanted him as Bond but he’s too old now )
Moneypenney : Felicity Jones ( She does light comedy very well )
Q: Peter Dinklage
Felix : John David Washington.
He’s also a bloody good M.
I’d also add Harris and Whishaw. Though I’d be surprised if either will return. In future I hope the role of Moneypenny is an office based role only.
Yeah, there's an argument for that. Especially as we really only have Tanner in the films now because there wasn't a Moneypenny in Quantum of Solace and he was basically fulfilling her role. In Spectre they're just basically taking turns to be The One Who Talks To M :)
I agree, with Felicity Jones, but not as Moneypenny. I could see her playing M, further down the years. As for Moneypenny, I could see Daisy Ridley. I know Star Wars alumni.
That’s why I was thinking Daisy Ridley. They could stay around for a long time.
The other reason is that it would be a new dynamic for the relationship. I think Bond and MP have so far generally been the same age, right? So returning the role to being more office bound and casting someone like Thandie Newton, Lena Headey or Rachel Weisz opposite say Nicholas Hoult could really change it up in a good way, I feel.
I've never thought of that. That is indeed a striking feat of continuity in a franchise that doesn't care about continuity all that much.
It's one of those topics where we as a more ardent fanbase tend to go "Oh, the general public want this" or "The trend is to do that." But Bond has kind of always struck a fine balance between making trends, following trends and buckling trends altogether. Yes, the MCU explains every little detail ad nauseam and whole origin films are made in a way to tie up every single loose end, but I hope Bond keeps - or maybe returns to - it's slightly offbeat repertoire company feel. I don't think we'll get it with Whishaw or any of the current support cast, but I think the fact that Desmond Llewelyn was Q for so long is one of those smaller things that really stays in people's minds, when they think of Bond.
Me too and they'd be very silly to throw that levrl of acting talent away, so they won't in my opinion. Just look at how Judi Dench stayed on as M between the Brosnsn and Craig eras. Plus, as @Birdleson says above, it keeps the theme of continuity that has always been a part of the Bond film series and its continued success.
I love this idea for recasting!!
Same here. The good news is Fiennes has said he would like to continue playing M. Given what we've seen from Michael and Barbara previously, I'd say there's a very high chance of that happening.
You should get fined for a post like that.
Your post was like a parking ticket…it had fine written all over it. ;)
Finally! Not to put too fine a point on it.
To be honest I would be happy to see Fiennes and co to stay on for several more films.
So you're fine with it?
With the actors staying on for Bond 26? Yes.
I was only 12 at the time though. 😆
