Those set photos of Batman on his Batbike looks like it’s Batfleck in action and not BatKeaton.Which makes sense i suppose, since Keaton is nearly 70 and likely won’t be doing much physical stuff.

I prefer Affleck to Keaton in the role.Affleck looks like stepped out of the comics as the character.I could never take Keaton seriously as Batman due his small size and his Bruce Wayne actually seemed uncomfortable around women.Keaton is a great actor but sometimes that’s not enough, you have to be physically right for the part. There are scenes in the 89 Batman film where they definetly have him standing on a box or something in his scenes with Kim Basinger.

I think childhood nostalgia blinds a lot of people to the fact that he wasn’t really a good Batman and just because he was the first “ dark ‘ on screen Batman.

Keaton's Bruce Wayne was uncomfortable around everyone--that was his conception of the character, as a neurotic, damaged man who was only at home in the bat-suit. He didn't look like the comics version of Bruce Wayne because Burton didn't want to cast a blandly handsome strong guy--he wanted to emphasize the difference between the physically unprepossessing Wayne and the armored menace of Batman. People still like Keaton's Batman because they respond to the film's conception of the character.

There are plenty of people out there who simply just think he was great in the part.

I watched the '89 one for the first time in years recently: it's an absolutely cracking film. Really belts along and stuffed with ideas.
It's a bit odd that Bruce totally disappears at the ending, but otherwise it's excellent.

Saw an early screening of THE SUICIDE SQUAD last night.

All I’ll say is that I give it a high recommend, and that I now want a pet rat.

And it's the best movie DC's put out since The Dark Knight.

Really enjoyed The Suicide Squad. Funny, violent, gory and a great cast of characters. Made the joke in my head about John Cena's superpower not being invisibility since 'you can't see him'. Best Harley Quinn has been on the big screen. Ratcatcher 2, Bloodsport, Polka Dot Man, King Shark all terrific too.

Anyone else catch that post-credits scene?

The Suicide Squad really was a big bag of crazy good fun. I wouldn't exactly call it the best thing since TDK, but I certainly had an awesome time with it. After Birds Of Prey, which I enjoyed tremendously, this is another hit for Harley. Mister J will be so proud. James Gunn did not tone down on anything and major props to WB and DC for letting him get away with it.

My mom and I greatly enjoyed The Suicide Squad. Never a dull moment. Margot Robbie is to Harley Quinn what Robert Downey Jr. is to Iron Man.

Anyone who can pull off King Shark like this in a live-action flick is all right in my book.

I am thinking of seeing this. I liked the first SS, but I hated BOP, so I really don t know what to expect. GOTG was not my thing, either.

It’s been a good year for DC movies. We finally got a great Justice League movie and a great Suicide Squad movie!

Too Bad Jar Jar Abrams ( aka The destroyer of franchises ) is coming to ruin everything.

I agree with the first, strongly disagree with the second. I like what Abrams has done with SW and ST and M:I. I don't get why people have such big issues with him. Destroyer of franchises? Clearly, he is anything but that.

Yeah, I quite liked his Trek movies and his Mission: Impossible entry. A lot of the criticism thrown at him seems to stem solely from Star Wars and is very overblown. The Force Awakens is still one of the most-fun nights I've had in a cinema.

So I thought The Suicide Squad was absolutely brilliant, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. It genuinely felt like the comic books brought to life as well as just being a good entertaining film on its own.

It is definitely my favourite film within the DCEU so far. I’ve never really connected with any of the others. I’m still super excited for The Batman (I know it’s not part of the DCEU), as that’s more my taste and (so far) like The Suicide Squad feels like it’s brought the comic book to life.

My only grievance is I felt:
The sequence between Harley Quinn and Luna could’ve been handled a lot better. Her capture and eventual escape were absolute highlights, and I liked her monologue beforehand, but the whole concept of him wanting to marry her just felt strange and a bit weak.

I dubbed that character Presidente F***boy, because he seems more concerned about being a beloved ruler with a trophy wife than being an actual leader. At least General Medrano had a more practical approach.

Box Office: ‘The Suicide Squad’ Underwhelms With $26.5 Million Debut.

Ok it’s rated R. Ok audiences have some issue with it (B+ Cinemascore it’s not great). Ok it’s available on Max (and torrent sites) day and date. But this huge bomb says a lot about nowadays people’s lack of confidence in the cinema experience.

And it’s a sequel to a film everyone hated.

It was always gonna have hurdles even before COVID. I’m just glad it actually got made. That’s a win for me.

Gunn’s take has the same Cinemascore that Ayer’s infamous Studio Squad had. That’s funny.

Films like BOP and TSS will be re-evaluated given enough time.

Well the first film made nearly 750 million ( without China) and won an Oscar so clearly not EVERYONE hated it.

An Oscar for makeup, which it probably only garnered for Killer Croc alone. I'm extremely critical of the Snyder-directed films for their lack of good pacing, blatant misunderstanding of pretty much every character and tone that makes one wonder if he's trying to send everyone to a suicide hotline, but at least they have good moments. The first Suicide Squad has none.

I was really looking forward to that first film but once bad word of mouth was spreading I was too disheartened to bother seeing it in theaters. Eventually I rented it for home just to get it out of the way and it still found ways to disappoint.

That all said, looking at the original trailer that Ayer claims was more reflective of his cut of the film, it still doesn't look good. I really don't like that serious tone/aesthetic of Snyder's run.

  • I would love to see Ayer's Suicide Squad based on his description of it. Surely it could only be an improvement.

“I put my life into Suicide Squad. I made something amazing. My cut is [an] intricate and emotional journey with some ‘bad people’ who are sh*t on and discarded (a theme that resonates in my soul). The studio cut is not my movie. And my cut is not the 10-week director’s cut. It’s a fully mature edit by Lee Smith standing on the incredible work by John Gilroy. It’s all Steven Price’s brilliant score with not a single radio song in the whole thing. It has traditional character arcs, amazing performances, a solid third act resolution. A handful of people have seen it. If someone says they have seen it, they haven’t.”

Alas, Warner Brothers seems resistant to the idea.

The only movie I liked of his was FURY. Everything else he's made leads me to believe I wouldn't like his cut of SUICIDE SQUAD. If I were to watch it it's only out of curiosity, because I like seeing different cuts of movies. Pretty much like Snyder's JL, which I watched once and have no desire to see it again.
