How's the Bond theme in the action tracks? Besides the full reprise in (presumably) Back to MI6, does it get action-ed up much with guitar or brass in Cuba, Norway, the finale or the opening sequence?

(I'm also presuming Message from an Old Friend / Square Escape must be pretitles action).

Cuba Chase is crazy dynamite. Home is breathtaking. Final Ascent is a masterpiece. Those are my three favorite tracks. Then it’s so sweet to have those two Barry’s OHMSS reprises and it’s great to hear Billie’s track (with even some new vocalisms) being reprised so much throughout the score (4 tracks).
The overall score is excellent, they really did it. Definitely my favorite of the Craig era. We’re in for something special with this film, something that will probably stand as the most emotional, tense and unique Bond film ever.

I couldn't have put it better myself, the contrast of how I felt anticipating SPECTRE having got some insight due to the leaks is night and day.

I said it to @peter that there is so much for us to learn, EON apart from this score leaking have kept this as tight as a drum and when I walk into my IMAX screening 12pm 30/09 I'm going to have so much to surprise me.

Zimmer has done us proud and far from a rush job that some feared when he was bought on late in the game, I did say back then that he'd likely been attached to this earlier than when it was announced and I remember someone saying that HZ mentioned about working on a top secret project when they saw him in concert and that was late 2019 if I remember rightly.

This indeed looks like it is going to be one thrilling roller coaster ride of a film, Craig will bow it in style and do something that neither Connery or Moore could do.

Any guesses on how much more score we'll get in the actual film than on the soundtrack judging by the runtime and soundtrack length?

Soundtrack is 70 minutes long, the movie is 163 minutes long.

The soundtracks always forgets themes (sometimes the best) so it will be longer, and we know that songs from other artists are going to be used (like "Dans la ville endormie" of Dalida).

Yep, that's exactly my point ;) OP asked how much more score we'll get in the film besides what we heard in the soundtrack, so I guess that we might get over an hour of extra music.

A DM would be greatly appreciated as well. I'd love to surprise my father with this for his birthday! 😎
  • Genuinely can't stop listening to it. It's one of many great signs for me (some of the trailers, TV spots etc. and the CinemaCon footage reaction) that this movie will transpire to be a classic.

FYI everybody!: At the end on that page it says something about pot. tracing so don't try downloading them, if that's even possible. Just listen to the stream as long it's available.

I just recorded them through Audacity, hope it's okay.

Hi everyone, I'm a long time lurker (since the site was first created around time of Die Another Day), but had to join in to request a PM of the score. If anyone could hook me up, I'd greatly appreciate it! Edit - Got it, thanks man!

Oh yes, that's why I said stream more as just a general thing if anyone is worried about just streaming it :) Not downloading it!! I had to edit to clarify haha.

EDIT: Should also add, if you are going to download it, they're digitally watermarked so a VPN would not save you. Don't download it.

This isn't by any means a bad thing, but I could totally imagine Bale's Batman fighting Joker or Bane to track 18. Great stuff Zimmer has come up with here!
  • After hearing track #20, someone is definitely dying at the end

I have a feeling it might be either Madeline, Q, or possibly Nomi (although the latter is doubtful)

Just listened, thanks to a couple of awesome fans here who were able to provide links. After a first impression, all I can say is: WOW.

From start to finish, Hans Zimmer delivers on *all* fronts. I lovr love LOVE how incorporates interpolations of the Bond theme - in parts and in full - throughout various points of the score; action cues are top notch, and there is one action theme in particular which reminds me of classic John Barry soundtracks from the past. Speaking of the maestro himself, yes, there are quotes of musical cues which I found tastefully done.

I could also hear some callbacks to Thomas Newman, a little bit of David Arnold…and dare I say, a few moments that sounded reminiscent of Eric Serra’s GoldenEye score (and given what we know of NTTD’s villain, this makes perfect sense). Heck, I’m even reminded of The Incredibles as well, with the brass - bold, dynamic, and sinister

I’ll also say that you can feel the flavor and character of the music which has a life of its own; there are percussive and woodwind elements in Zimmer’s NTTD score, and the standout track, to me - “Cuba Chase” - is just so dang fun, dangerous, and playful and I really can’t wait to see how it’s handled in the film. Johnny Marr’s guitar is sprinkled throughout, and there’s one instance in the soundtrack that definitively says “Bond. Is. Back”.

Honestly, if i had to rank this soundtrack among my top 10 it’s up there, and #1 as far as the Craig films go, mainly because of the cohesiveness and personality (above Skyfall, Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale, and Spectre in that order).

Glad I wasn't the only one hearing a bit of Serra in there, with the deep choral sounds

Wow this is amazing so far. Matera had my eyes welling up a bit, and you know exactly which part I mean.

Right! GE is one of my favorite soundtracks, and hearing that sound carried over from there to NTTD, although brief, was great.

I do. Breathtaking stuff. Hans Zimmer really brought his A+ game to this film. The other John Barry callback was *perfection*.

I think it's all pointing that way - they had that whole 'your wife' bit as well in one of the snippets of the film that they shown to the press. I forget where that was now though.
