Thank you. 3 tracks in and sounding fantastic. Soo excited!!
And I'm getting more and more confident that they will.
Me too my friend.
Bond might pop on a record after doing some fishing. That would be great.
Alternatively they might put the remix of Madonna's 'die another day' on in the Jamaican nightclub 😉
Bond should start singing it 😂
The Norway Chase track also has elements of the goldeneye 64 game OST, what with the percussion and deep ominous cues tbh
*** EDIT *** Received. Thanks @silva13 !
I messaged you
You're an absolute gentleman, thank you very much!
Predictably, I would love it if someone could drop me the link as well. This is one of my most anticipated aspects of NTTD.
Just think of the good karma!
I was initially concerned that Hans Zimmer would offer up a bit of a generic score but it looks like I'm wrong. 🙂
If the film is as good as the soundtrack, we are in for a classic!
And one more thing - Poison Garden? Surely not Shatterhand's garden of death? :-O
I recall it being just Barry’s. If it sounded like Zimmer’s it would have caught my ear
In an interview, Barbara Broccoli said that fans of the novels will get a treat or two. I think that’s exactly what she was referring to. In fact, you can see it in the second trailer at a quick glance.
More than that I would say that the majority of the score is very much in line with the style that Newman has introduces in SF meaning that Zimmer and team rather go for a carpet of sound than a more melody-driven approach. In fact many elements in various tracks almost sound like they were taken from Newman (Macau casino arrival, Turkey tracks, Rom chase,...). As somehow who quite enjoyed Newman's work (on SF... not so much the copy-paste job he did for SP) I like that there is some kind of musical consistency now in those three Craig movies. All of which is not surprising as also Newman went for a "Zimmer'esque" approach.
Some of the tracks I particularly liked:
- Cuba Chase: The team goes wild with this
- Opening the Doors: I love the full Zimmer-way of the Bond Theme that can be heard in multiple tracks but is most vibrant in this one
- Norway Chase: another strong, dynamic Zimmer track featuring chorus
- Final Ascent: well...
I do agree… Barry and Arnold’s works are light touches there and there and this is great but yes the large part of the score is very Zimmer in a way he follows Newman but his score works better to me.
