As it stands, I think this one is going to sit at 11th or 12th place for me, though it feels like it could go a little higher. I’m really not sure without another couple of viewings. Trying to separate that honeymoon phase of a new installment and the joy that comes with it from the nostalgia and bias I have with the older installments I’ve seen hundreds of times. It’s tough.

I understand. But I was pleasantly surprised by NTTD. If they decide to stop after 25 movies that would be fine by me.

5 years ago, this was unthinkable for me. A little more open to it now. Or at least a long layoff. There’s so much money in the franchise though (because we’ll all see it 5-6 times), it’s hard to imagine Bond going away.

    Explain how exactly.
LALD aside, the box office takings were down. TMWTGG continued with the downward trend. TSWLM took the franchise to a different level and attracted a new audience as well as the traditional. MR built on that.

Thanks! That could change obviously lol I just saw it yesterday and was a little in shock after first viewing. After sitting on it for a few hours I still felt very strongly about it. Second viewing coming soon!

I like them all (and love the Craig era as a whole), but Casino's characterization of Bond is pretty foreign to Fleming or EON. And while the plot beats generally "feel" right, many of them (why does Le Chiffre torture Bond, why does Vesper hand over the money) don't make any sense upon reflection.

Just saw it a second time! Lucky me 🤓 still very high on the film. Definitely confirmed some plot holes, but also fell even more in love with madeleine. FRWL and NTTD are very close , possibly interchangeable

I highly doubt my ranking matches anyone else, but it works for me!!

I have Casino in the same place!

Just curious, why don’t you guys like Casino?
No major issue with the film in terms of story and direction as a whole, just didn't enjoy DC's uncouth Bond.

@Birdleson Love seeing it rank so highly, compared to where you expected! I don’t even know where it falls for me, but I know that I definitely loved it (which is albeit true for most of the Bond films). It’s probably around there on my list.

Thats a pretty fair placing for NTTD! Am not sure I will even have it that high!
Has LTK slipped down on your list?
Cracking top 2, mirrors my own! (In reverse!)
And SP ahead if CR?? Not sure about that 🤔
