For TV it’s unquestionably Tony Soprano, closely followed by Al Swearengen.

Two out of the top three of mine go way back:
    Han Solo
    Richard Sharpe
    Christian Bale's Batman/Bruce Wayne
For a top 5, I'd add Kara Thrace and Bill Adama from Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica.

ETA how could I forget Russell Crowe's Maximus... I guess he could take Christian Bale's place, or at least share it.

And also, on a very different note, Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers).

I'm going to interject with a warm take and say that A Shot in the Dark is unquestionably the best Panther film. Like it's not even close for me.

    I concur!
I do enjoy 'Return' a lot, but A Shot in the Dark is probably the best told and funniest!

    Count Dracula
    Captain Nemo
    Sgt. Steiner
    (from Cross of Iron)
Baron Frankenstein (the Hammer film series)

If also considering Made-for-TV movies (telefilms):

    Carl Kolchak
    Richard Sharpe
With the question expanded to cover TV series as well, I'll add:

    Yes Columbo is great.

Dana Scully is probably my favourite character overall.

Does Captain Scarlet count? I wanted to be him when I was a kid.

I have to give a shout-out for Pinhead. He doesn’t do anything lol, he just stands there and looks cool and says some wicked one liners, but wow what a character.

Hard boiling it down to just one. But if so it has to be Han Solo from Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. Not the character from those later awful fake Star Wars films.

Top of my list too. I cut him slack for ROTJ - I'd rather see him alive and awake than permanently frozen - but once I knew the plot of TFA, I never bothered to watch it, or either of its sequels. Saw Solo as an in-flight movie, and it seemed pretty meaningless.

Figured as much :-q I found his death scene on Youtube back then and that was all I needed to know about the film. Off-topic, my Star Wars canon re: original trilogy sequels is that of the Timothy Zahn books.

As we're now including TV characters as well my second favourite character after James Bond has to be Lieutenant Columbo. Columbo is my favourite TV programme of all time and I've been a fan of both Bond and Columbo since I was a child.

Saw all the sequels, really liked the beginning of TFA but that's about it.

Saw Solo and really enjoyed it actually. Alden, Emilia, and Donald were all fantastic, really liked all the side characters as well and the Kessel Run scene was brilliant (loved all the Falcon stuff). I'd suggest giving it another try when you're not watching it on the back of a chair.

The actors looked fine, it just did not seem to gel together... but I might rewatch it one day, if only to do justice to my forum handle :P

I prefer Rockford! James Garner was always superb in anything he starred in!
He was my favourite of The Great Escapers too!

Spider-Man. Animated series and Raimi Spider-Man. I have crush on Kirsten Dunst when she was in Jumanji.
Batman. Animated series, one of those people that liked Val Kilmer as Batman.

From Superman i liked 40's animation more (and have one episode on a dvd) and Lois & Clark Series of the 90's. It is big mistake Warner not release a 8 BD Superman (With first 5 movies and extra's) set with Dutch subs in The Netherlands/Belgium. I haven't seen much of first 4. I have Superman 6 (Man of Steel) as 2 disc 3D release, but only because i was intrest in other movies of that 8 disc 3D boxset and it was cheap. Also i have 4 Batman films on BD (A boxset who was released 5-6 years later then in other country's) and VHS.

Macgyver, i watched new series too but i prefer older one.

Aladdin, The Lion King. X-men. Harry Potter, more overall too of course but also big fan of Ginny and Luna. It helps that Bonnie Wright and Evanna Lynch play those and now there are 30 years old there looks amazing. I think Gary Oldman should have played Lupin and David Thewlis the part of Serius Black. 5th and 3th novel be my favorite, i prefer second movie whyle 3th movie have very good music.

Hey I’m happy I have another fan of superheroes on screen I was starting to think I was one of the very few people here who loved Superheroes.

When I first started this thread I honestly expected more MCU fans around and then almost no one mentioned a superhero.

I get kinda surprised about how much people harp on Dalton's hair in LTK. It really only looks bad, so to speak, when he's in the casino in Isthmus and has it all slicked back, and I guess maybe it looks that way during certain scenes on the Wavekrest too? But for the vast majority of the film his hair is pretty much in line with his TLD hair.

He has the terrible hair in the scenes that are otherwise the most Bondian. Maybe that’s why it feels like such a stark discrepancy.

Excellent. I agree. He is so authentic. Loses his faith, the demon forces him to regain it to save the girl. Hard to believe it’s almost 50 yo.
