    Nice Bond tribute.

Curious if one will turn up for the Oscars.

If Roger Friedman’s sources are correct, there will be a 60th anniversary tribute at this month’s Oscar show. I hope it is better than the one they did back in 2013.

NTTD is a lovely Bond title song; very glad it won.

Whoever the next artist is for Bond 26, they’re gonna have a lot of pressure trying to follow up THREE Oscar winning artists.
  • Well done to Billie and her brother. Great song. Fully deserved. Chris Nolan needs to chose his artist carefully!
Shame on academy for ignoring Daniel Craig but the people who vote are snobby when it comes to franchise films except Dark Knight possibly so I wasn't expecting a nomination.

I'm very happy with the title song winning an oscar yet again....even if I'm not the song's biggest fan, the win keeps James Bond relevant. But the down side of the win is, no more rock songs for James Bond. It seems Adele's Skyfall is now the Bond song selected Bond artists look at to create theirs.

Billie Eilish didn't need to win to hurt a rock song's chances of becoming the next title song. Rock as a genre has been falling in popularity since the end of the 90s.

Given that Amazon may want to reach out for younger demographics after NTTD failed at that in the USA box office, I seriously doubt they'll look for a rock act. It's no longer the youth oriented genre it used to be in the 20th century.

Congratulations to them for that win: as much as Sam Smith thought they were at the time the first gay man to win an Oscar(?! :)) ), apparently Billie Eilish is the one who actually goes down in Oscar history as she is the first winner to have been born in the 21st century! :D

Yes, thanks to Contraband for posting. maybe slightly curiously Golden Gun-heavy (!) but a nice one: I like the bit with the gunbarrels going through each actor.

Did they just play a montage though? Feels a touch low effort for a stage show..?

Yeah, that's true though. Talk about evolution.

Yes, they only played the montage presented by I think three men from the world of sports. Not sure of their names.

Shaun White (snowboard), Kelly Slater (surfing) and Tony Hawk (skateboard). Thoroughly baffling. There didn't seem to be any rationale, but that is some serious "For some reason these guys have to do something and everything else is already taken up, so let's just have them do this"-energy. Pulling names out of a hat.

Thanks for adding their names. And yes, indeed weird and baffling.

The Academy could have had some former Bond ladies or villains presenting the montage or even cooler: Craig/Brosnan/Dalton/Lazenby walking out on stage

She should have won price last year, because it is 2020 song for movie that already finished in making in 2020.

I expect Encanto with We Don't Talk About
    Bruno
have won. Whyle mabey Best Animated movie is more on his place with overall songs succes (Like The Lion King and Aladdin). ''Funny'' both songs sings with same source of inspiration.

Very nice version, although maybe a bit raspy with all the inhaling- once you notice it it's really distracting :)

Yeah, that's a bit rubbish. I'm not saying they have to do a big dance routine with guys dressed as Oddjob (again!) but you'd have thought they could have come up with something a little more interesting to watch than a big YouTube video- at least the Baftas got Shirley out.
Still, at least the Oscars stage did seem to be designed as a massive gunbarrel! :)
  • Well played to Will Smith for smacking Chris Rock who I've never found funny. Served him right for stepping too far.

Yeah, they could have picked Léa Seydoux, Eva Green and ... hmmmmmmh ... Famke Janssen. And could've chosen a Boind-Song-Mredley. But then it was not about James Bond being in the focus for the night, but the Oscars.

Or, of course, Rami Malek, Javier Bardem (who was present anyway), and either Mads Mikkelsen, or Chritoph Waltz.
