a brief metion saying what we kind of already know that not a lot of work has been done apparently on project 007...
I am now fearful we wont get this game till 2024
That's how most development cycles work for games and it pisses me off every time. The game has no connection to NTTD or Craig's era so I don't see why they would've announced it to coincide with that. Hell, that first teaser for Elder Scrolls 6 came out almost four years ago now and it's still nowhere close to release. Why bother?
Elder Scrolls VI is a Bethesda game. So 4+ years in development, and it will release as a buggy mess.
And that's just four years since the trailer. They no doubt had preliminary development ongoing for several years before that and it sounds like it'll take several years POST-release of Starfield before they even properly unveil it.
And as you say, it'll be buggy as hell upon release. It sounds like it'll be an Xbox exclusive, so I won't even be able to cave and play it when the time comes since I'm exclusively PlayStation anymore.
That's Xbox's loss, Playstation's gain. ;)
It's a little disappointing about the delay, but so long as they don't cancel the game, I can wait.
Agreed. I'm patient enough. I'd rather them take all the time they need than rush out a half-baked game.
Absolutely.
It's 3 years ago this month that Rebellion officially announced that Sniper Elite 5 was going to happen, but they couldn't give any further news. Though it's worth noting that they released a few other games in that time (Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, Zombie Army 4: Dead War, Sniper Elite VR, Evil Geniuses 2 and a Switch port of Sniper Elite 3). Non AAA developers do need that extra time.
With unlockable starting points, it looks like they are taking a little inspiration from the Hitman trilogy. I am trying my best not to watch too much of it on Youtube, I have just caught little glimpses here and there. I already have my copy of the Deluxe Edition pre-ordered. It's not going to sell out, but still...
at least it isnt Duke Nukem Forever territory
Same here! In terms of James Bond games, I’m also hoping for Goldeneye 007 remastered!

It appears that this game is in its very nascent stages, with no sign of us getting anything resembling an early look at it, and that's not great for us or the game. So now the long waiting game begins, and the hype machine against which IO will be fighting up until release will be in full gear until it's in our hands.
(The idea, now, that a substantial cross-platform 007 game was release every single year from 2001-2005 seems staggering. What times those were...)
Except 2003. EON was supposed to be released Nov 2003, but got delayed to Feb 2004. Still, 2 Bond games in the same year is unthinkable now. That might go some way to explain why GE:RA turned out the way that it did.
I'm still glad I got to experience QoS when it was brand new and popular. It's not some objectively perfect game or anything but it came out at a great point in my life, when I had a lot of free time and interest in FPS titles, and it was such a blast to me through and through - playing with friends, going for achievements, being amazed at all the locations from the films I was so familiar with. What perfection at the time.

Wow, that's right -- great recall! I think EON was my first video game delay I had to get used to. (Which, sadly, has become a bit of a norm for major publishers now).
Hot take alert:
If I'm the studio, I consider giving gamers the chance to customize the look however they like for their own Bond. Give them full character creation abilities, like modern RPGs. Then they can avoid any conflict/alignment challenges with whoever is cinematic Bond by the time the next film releases, and say they did something revolutionary by opening up the image of Bond to something more diverse and unexpected.
(My marketing voice steps in: "Won't work. You need a set image of Bond to market the game. And his voice, mannerisms, aesthetic, inform too much of the rest of the game's design and tone that you can't just leave it to a range of user-generated chance. That's not how Bond works. Go play Fallout 4 again.")
I got the platinum in QoS. Grinding 100,000 credits in the online multiplayer was a chore.
If memory serves correctly there was a demo of EoN which came with the Official Ps2 Magazine about six months before the game launched. It had the initial dam/abseil level and the bridge motorbike chase. Played them both for hours. And there were some differences between the demo and final release, mainly UI related.
I remember the 100 Golden Gun kills (I think was the amount) was a bit more nervewracking than the 100,000 credits. That one came naturally to me. I had a buddy help me focus on getting the Golden Gun in matches so I could get the achievement, it was so much fun.
And yes, there was! It had both levels; the bridge motorcycle chase with Jaws especially was a favorite of mine. I'd play it over and over and over again.
