What I got from the trivia that may be relevant to this community is: Her husband, pianist and arranger Ron Edgeworth, who committed suicide in 1994 because he was terminally ill, was a member of the John Barry Seven before they married.
Well, people, at least for those of us still remembering the music scene of the 60s, the impacts are coming closer.
Beautifully said.

Damn. This hurts.
R.I.P. Olivia Newton John.
RIP.
It's quite a bit shocking news.
Condolences to her family.....
Yeah I didn't realize how much stuff she was in. RIP
Not to mention her participation at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 (she placed fourth)
Oh, and it should be Dame Olivia Newton-John. Yes, she was a DBE. Quite a career indeed ! RIP, and thank you for the music (yes, I know, wrong singers, but it fits, I guess).

I can't emphasize enough how much of a contribution to pop music Lamont Dozier made. Between 1963 and 1967, Dozier and the Holland brothers wrote dozens of unforgettable songs, pioneered a lot of production techniques that were copied by everybody and launched the careers of The Supremes, The Four Tops or Martha & The Vandellas.
Berry Gordy at Motown favoured a line work approach when it came to starting a record company, due to his experience with car factories in Detroit. Writers would come up with song after song. When there was a hit, they would put together a few variations on it, based on what had worked. And for a few years, "HDH", both as a songwriting and a producing team were responsible for the main breadwinners at Motown, expanding on their earlier hits with new ones with some inspired ideas that would keep things fresh. They defined about as much the 60s pop culture as the Bond films, in their own respective way.
