I know that the ad was meant to be over the top but, I dunno, I felt like it was trying just a little bit too hard for me. I think Dan's funnier when he understates it and plays it as if he's unaware of the comedy, as in that Catherine Tate sketch, tbh. It was funnier when Christopher Walken got up out of his chair and set off dancing around the house in that Weapon of Choice video 20 years back too!

That seems to be true mate. You could say that's what made Connery, Dalton and Craig such good Bond's in a way, because Bond of the books is reluctant 00 agent. Isn't in Moonraker he talks about retiring as a 00? Maybe you need a bit of that disdain in your performance
Yes. True....and funnily enough, the ones who don't want to do it, are the ones critics love or find more interesting.
Yeah, you could say that as well. But I feel he's someone who would have happily left, if he wasn't offered up to three films. Like it's difficult imagining Craig coming back like Brosnan did in GE, after the TLD situation...many years earlier.
Maybe it's fairer to say they had the least frustrations with playing the role over a long period of time. Honestly, I do feel for Connery and Craig. I don't get the sense either were massive 'Bond fans' before getting the part, but they were able to make it their own and one could argue at the very least had a 'love/hate' relationship with the role. Both had a lot of difficulties to deal with during their productions (both certainly had to deal with the pressures of fame, and Craig especially went through a lot of physical endurance in all of his films). With Roger Moore it seems the producers ironed out a lot of the issues they had with their working relationship with Connery, so perhaps it'll be a similar situation with Bond 7 and not falling into the same problems Craig faced.

Apparently he almost played Balder/Baldur, Thor's (half) brother, in Multiverse of Madness, which would have been cool. Never did see that movie though.
Saw it this evening. Excellent. This cast seemed to be having more fun the first. Monae is brilliant. And there are some great cameos in it.
Unfortunately, what also stands out is how awesome its standalone status is, and is a reminder of how his Bond films could have been even fresher and better IMO instead of shoehorning continuity.
Without having seen it yet, it is kind of wild to reflect how the MCU (and probably other films that aren't an easy buzzword) has skewed our perception of continuity. From what I understand, Glass Onion is absolutely in continuity with Knives Out. I don't know if the events of the first film are mentioned, but they obviously happened to Blanc. Just like it has always been for these long-running book, TV or film series'. But they don't have to directly tie into each other. They don't have to have the same characters except for the lead (and maybe one or two assistants). We've argued this point to death, but someone like Bond or Blanc can develop as a character throughout three or four films without the villain of the first film having to reappear in the last one (or their daughter, brother, father, whatever).
It's actually kind of maddening, when you think about it. Every actor and their grandma has appeared in the MCU or Star Wars or both and still they have to constantly cross-over and re-appear and tie-in.
To bring this back to Craig, does anyone know of any projects he has in the pipeline? You obviously can't rush these things, but I'm kind of fascinated by the various post-Bond careers and obviously have high hopes for him.
Not 100% but I remember reading ages back he was due to appear in a Todd Field film called Creed of Violence. Something about the Mexican Revolution and Craig playing an assassin. Not sure what's come of it.
