Thanks, he has a great look, but I get the vibe he wasn't a natural star from that.

It's very safe to assume Rege Jean Page is in the running. It's between him and ATJ.

As others have asked, why is it safe to assume?
I myself wouldn’t be interested in seeing a Bond film with Page OR ATJ.

It's not safe to assume anything at all, neither that so or so are in the running, nor that so and so aren't. All we can do right now is speculate while we patiently await an official announcement.

I guess it's safe to assume that everyone we've mentioned here, and many more probably, have been considered, if however briefly, but they can't be assumed to be in the running, as Dimi says. Even ATJ, who we know looks pretty likely to have met with the producers, can't be assumed to be in the running because for all we know he met with them to tell them he's not interested.

George Lazenby gave his opinion on who should be bond a few days ago or so.
Any guesses before you find out ?

Bet it's someone from Australia. Or alternatively Henry Cavill.

Who is it out of interest?

Yes, and, in a roundabout way, yes as well 😅

    Think it was Liam Hemsworth.

Why would he suggest a wet paper bag to be the next Bond? Odd choice, that.

Absolutely. If I had to pick a Hemsworth it would be Chris.

He said he was taking time off from actor. Don't know that he would commit to something this long in addition to Thor.

I doubt that the Hemsworths are gunning / in the running for Bond. But I could be wrong, of course.

Supposedly it tends to be more bs than truth. But every now and then they have a true story. I’m surprised that we don’t know directors or other writers yet.

Those would have to be hired first, before any actors are auditioned. So why is no one dropping "scoops" on them?

Because everyone knows that it will be Purvis and Wade writing. Maybe they’ll direct this time.

To put this "scoop" into context, before Christmas this site released a story to say "The next James Bond will be a person of colour" .
    https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/ent/james-bond-person-of-color-exclusive.html

One, if not both, of the stories are wrong I think they've just embellished on the ATJ rumours and there's no merit to their story

I agree. Also, on the subject of directors, what was that Nolan rumour about? Was there any merit to that even if just a rumour?

How can we assume that? Apart from being liked in Bridgerton and having his fanbase, there's no reason to believe he's even in the running.
He stopped taking interviews not too long ago (weird for a rising star). Before he did, a reporter let it slip that he banned Bond questions. Him and Barbara have been in attendance at a few events in the past year. Had the rumor mill behind him in 2021.

Here's a video of him winking when a reporter jokingly calls him Bond:

Technically he's still the new Saint isn't he? But we all knew that's not happening.

Yeah, it's up to D&D or the unnamed heist movie to be his Layer Cake now.

The Giant Freaking Robot article says ATJ has had 3 meetings which is new info. Claimed to be vetted by their own sources.

I think you're grasping at straws with that one. He's on a red carpet. That's how actors react. In fact, it's quite clever of him. A wink means he's acknowledging the reporter but doesn't have to say anything.

Casting Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the next Bond would mark another sad chapter in Hollywood’s revisionist crusade

I have serious reservations about choosing a guy who more or less got out of his school uniform to marry a mother of two more than twice his age playing the freewheeling adventurous machismo that is James Bond, writes Nicholas Sheppard.

Aren't most films 'redundant', though? Isn't the film business 1% art and 99% commercial anyway? I don't think Bullet Train is innovative, ground-breaking, or artistically relevant. But it's a perfectly enjoyable film to a lot of people, albeit a film that conflates tons of things we've seen before. I equate this to a sugary soft drink. It's the same mass-produced stuff, lacking the subtlety of exclusive wines, but under a hot son and when craving someting sweet, the 'redundant' stuff can be perfectly satisfying.
