    It's just funny to me how they've rehashed Goldfinger's plot into three films, AVTAK, TWINE and possibly, QoS 😅.

    Different resources but same agenda (if that's the correct word).

    I guess this should be in the 'I've never noticed that before' thread.

    That's also one of the things why I liked Skyfall, the plot was unique, it's different from the plots of the previous Bond films, it's unexpected and didn't felt like a rehash of a previous film (plot wise), the only Bond film where they've shown their creativity, sadly after that, they've replicated the same plot structure into Craig's last two.

    CR and QoS for me . Best two-parter story wise. SF is good in isolation but I’ve never rewatched this one too many times . SP and NTTD will be least viewed in the years to come.

    Lately the Craig era seems to be my least watched overall. I have to be in the mood for his Bond. Dalton's films, on the other hand I can watch endlessly.

    Overall, I'd say CR and QoS are my most watched of the five Craig Bond's. I couldn't get enough of thise two during the 4 year gap to SF.

    To even things out a bit, I watched CR tonight. Has its flaws like all the others, but tonight I especially noticed how great the chases and fights are (PTS, Mollaka, Obanno...). I'm always surprised how Purvis & Wade (though supported by Paul Haggis) delivered such an overall great script after the borderline cringeworthy stuff they produced for the last two Brosnan films (in fact, I wondered in 2006 why they were ever rehired in the first place, but they rehabilitated themselves quite nicely). CR is firmly in my top five overall and in my top three Craig films (only QOS and SP don't stick up to the others).

    Purvis & Wade always had other writers come in after them and do lots of rewrites. So much of DAD is not attributed to them, and they even said as much that none of their work for QOS made it in the final version of that film despite the screenplay credit.

    I think Eon likes to use them because they’re Fleming aficionados and they always have a solid premise to start off with before other writers are brought in to punch it up. That’s what Haggis, Logan, Waller-Bridge have always done. There’s never been a Bond film that was purely scripted by Purvis & Wade from start to finish. That’s why I’m not as inclined to be harsh on them like other fans.
