I love the album it comes from.
Sing Hard 3 Starring Bruce Willis
Maybe not for Skyfall, but at some point.
How about an 80s Classic ? ( Actually featured in American Psycho soundtrack ) :
New Order - True Faith
Really??? That's awesome.
Not only is he a singer, he's actually good at it. Another reason to love Bruce Willis (no homo).
I know this one's from Batman Forever, but it could be a great Bond theme, tho.
I was browsing on YouTube, and for some reason came across this song:
And while I listened to it, I was watching that footage from that cancelled Raven 007 game, and it matched so bloody well I thought I'd share it.
Yeah, it would be a change, and it would benefit from a more classic/Bond-type of orchestration, but for some reason, imo, it sounds Bond :)
Wondering what you think about it....
What would you like to see happen for future Bond film themes? Would you like it to remain classic and old school? Would you like an artist like Chris Cornell to do the next Bond theme? or would you like a slower track? Or, have you even got any actual song suggestions for a Bond theme?
So here's mine;
1) Sound of a Gun - by Audioslave, except sang by Sir Tom Jones and made more orchestral and given the Bond treatment - in the break you can even hum John Barry's James Bond Theme and it fits!

2) Loverman - a song originally by Nick Cave, the best version of this is by Depeche Mode's Martin Gore, so an orchestral version like that, but sang by Rihanna. I'm not into modern pop music, and especially not Rihanna - but I can imagine her singing a more classy song in an effort to be like Shirley Bassey (though no one can eclipse Dame Shirley!)
3) Love is a Losing Game - by Amy Winehouse of course re-sang by Adele with added Bond orchestration and with more of the Prince arrangement. This would be a slower song reflecting on love and would be more akin with the softer slower female sang songs of the Roger Moore films.
4) I also love the Blood Stone game Bond theme song I'll Take It All by Joss Stone and Dave Stewart.

It's the bassist's/bandleader's (Alex Callier) dream to compose a Bondsoundtrack, btw.
Perhaps a different vocalist. But I like the tune. Obviously should be longer.
Sounds Brozzer era-ish. I like it :)
How about this one 'Dangerous Game' by Shirley Bassey. The B side for 'Big Spender' in 1967. If this isn't pure Bond I don't know what is!

If they wanted a 60's/70's Shirley Bassey type song anything by Pizzacato Five would be Bondish (they would have to translate the Japanese lyrics) -

This would fit so well. The rythim and the lyrics are great.
Would be a kind of music that a Bond girl would make for Bond.
If you want the Translation:
Ya sabía que era una mentira
Cuanto tiempo que por él perdí
Que promesa rota sin cumplir
Son amores problemáticos
Como tú, como yo
Es la espera en un teléfono
La aventura de lo ilógico
La locura de lo mágico
Un veneno sin antídoto
La amargura de lo efímero
Porque él se marchó
Amores, tan extraños que te hacen cínica
Te hacen sonreir entre lágrimas
Cúantas páginas hipotéticas
Para no escribir las auténticas
Son amores que sólo a nuestra edad
Se confunden en nuestros espíritos
Te interrogan y nunca te dejan ver
Si serán amor o placer
Y cúantas noches lloraré por él
Cúantas veces volveré a leer
I knew you wouldn't arrive
I knew it was a lie
How much time for him i've lost
What promises that you didn't fulfill
These are Problematic Loves
Like you, like me
The wait for a Phone call
The adventure of the ilogical
The madness of the magic
A poison without antidote
The bitterness of the ephemeral
Because he's gone
Loves, so stranger ones that make you cynic
Makes you smile between tears
How much hipotetic pages
To not get writting the authentics
They're loves that only in our age
Get confused in our spirits
Interrogating you and never letting you see
If it's love or pleasure
And how many nights i'll cry for him
How many time i'll get back to read
those letters i've received
when my punishes were happiness
They're spordic loves
But in you they'll stay
Loves, so strangers that they come and they go
And they'll survive in your heart
They are stories that you'll always tell
without knowing if they're real
They're fragile loves
Prisoners, accomplices
Problematic loves
Like you, like me
They're fragile loves
Prisoners, accomplices
So strangers, that stay refusing themselves
Hiding from both of'em
I knew you wouldn't arrive
I'll promise myself this time
I have wanted a sincere love
Without him, already...
This one came a late in the early 90s. But might have worked with an orchestra on it...

2.One More Night-Maroon 5 (Ending credits)
3.In The End-Linkin Park
Agreed!
It's 'Madness' this song wasn't used for Skyfall but maybe it could be for the next one, but I think that ship sailed.
