Fair enough. Should have Jeffery Deaver write one over Sebastian Faulks. I just IFP moves on from the Fleming timeline. There’s not much more that they could do with it. It also reeks of desperation.
Yes, it would be nice to see a James Bond story set in the contemporary world again which was always the approach favoured by Fleming, Amis, Gardner, Benson and Deaver. Happily Charlie Higson's On His Majesty's Secret Service (2023) was a step in this direction again. It was good to see, as I think contemporary set Bond novels read more authentically than period set Bond novels do.
