It looks like any recent DB. Not bad, but repetitive.
Most of all, I think that with a new Bond, the franchise should give him a vehicle that is credible and makes sense for a secret agent...for a change. And none of the DBs and certainly not the Lotus, nor the BMWs (except the sedan in Hamburg, which lets him blend in without much public attention, yet in turn except for the fake German licence plate that they could have easily avoided, and for him parking it in a passenger zone) did that before. If they want him to drive his private car (as in the CR novel), a nostalgic DB5 instead of the novel's Bentley may be ok (but they should explain that in the movie). But if it's MI6 issue in 2023 or later, it better be something different. And no ejection seat, please, we don't do those things any more.
Bentley is a bit too blingy and football player-ish; funnily enough Lotus are getting there but still not quite as upmarket as Aston.
Bentley's current CEO has tweeted/X'd in the past about it being cost-prohibitive to be in a Bond movie for the brand, which is surprising considering they typically have stronger cash coffers than Aston does.
I'm also unsure how much these firms actually pay to the film: I'm sure they probably pay for the licensed tie-ins they sell etc. but I'd imagine Eon are pretty happy with Aston supplying the production with as many cars as they need.
I once interviewed Rich Agnew at Land Rover about the Defender allocation, and he said they didn't necessarily _pay_ outright, but they moved planned production (early-release models) up by something like six months to make production on time, which cost them millions, and then they're yeah, basically giving the first 6-8 vehicles off a production line to the film, which are valued in the millions each and typically reserved for quality assurance. That's not to mention the customization the production required, including completely rubber spare wheel replacements so the bike riders wouldn't die if they collided with the Defenders, etc. It's truly an investment to be involved, unless it's just a Ford on a beachway drive for 30 seconds of film haha. One thing I didn't and should've asked is how they balance it with marketing value on the books.
That's very interesting, thanks. I thought it was something like that; and I can imagine Aston spent absolutely shedloads on those cars for NTTD- the DB5s were one thing, but even the V8s had to be effectively built from a few old models they bought and totally restored.
I'm sure it must also work out that a lot of these product placement companies are cross-promoting the movie in their adverts/on their packaging etc., which MGM or whoever aren't paying for out of their budget; so there's something of worth being given to the film there which again isn't a monetary payment as such. So these product deals must be pretty complex.

As far as I’m concerned, an electric car, and defitinely a Tesla, is a big no-go for someone like Bond. Might as well give him an Apple smartwatch, a pair of oversized jeans and a t-shirt with Givenchy written on it ostentatiously. It screams nouveau-riche.
I actually quite like this idea. A Bond bike instead of the traditional, Bond car would be a unique change for the series.

How do you feel about motorcycles clearly being Tom Cruise's wheelhouse/domain and Bond potentially having to counter that? We saw Ethan get away on a bike in 6 and then throw a bike at a guy in 7.
