:))
A 100% on point, yet again
I think to give ourselves a clue of who Barbara would pick, we should be looking at actors, we can't see in the part. I don't know if it's true or not, but I kept hearing that Barbara wanted Sean Bean as James Bond over Pierce Brosnan. But if feels true, because of how she chose Craig over guys like Clive Owen and Julian McMahon. But I think McMahon would have been great as well.
Complaining about Bond dying? We don't want to go down that road again. ;)
Very nice GIF!
Yes, I'd prefer a Bond in this age range.
Aw what's wrong with Apted? Speaking of lesser known British directors, I just remembered that (the also sadly departed) Roger Michell was due to direct Quantum. I'd have loved to have seen that, as I love a lot of his work.
Then again, I'm now a big fan of the film as directed by Forster, even though I was left feeling deflated and confused after the first viewing upon it's release. It's now one of my favourites!...
I think most of us will, even if we claim otherwise!
Theo James should be cast in one of the huge Fay fantasy shows coming up, either as Xaden in Empyrean series, Rhysand in ACOTAR, or Hunt or Ruhn in Crescent City. He strikes me as a Fey male, not Bond.
Harry styles would be a smart choice to hook in the under 30 demographic, something they desperately need to do. Personally I don't think the next actor will be a complete unknown, but that doesn't mean it won't be someone out of left field like Styles or possibly Holland.
For me, there's still no substitutes.
I think he’s a good actor, but I personally don’t see anything special that he could bring. He strikes me as more Dalton-esque than Moore or Brosnan honestly, much more subtle and intense. I don’t think his age is a problem at all, but I can see him not even being on EON’s radar if he’s not what they’re looking for from this particular version of Bond.
So we’re going for a mix of Magnum PI and Manuel from Fawlty Towers.
😂🤣
The only answer I can give is, the right one.
In the history of the franchise, we’ve never had a dud Bond.
Sure some of the actors haven’t been as well received by the public. But as Bond fans, all the Bond actors have appealed to a certain fan group.
I have no reason then , to doubt that this should not continue. When the time comes to cast and announce the next Bond, I’m quietly confident it’ll be the right choice.
Every bond actor starts out playing it how they think the audience expects, and ends up just doing what comes naturally. Roger was naturally charming and self-deprecating so that's how he played it, Brosnan was smooth and debonair, Craig was grumpy and abrasive, Dalton was brooding and intense. While I agree Turner resembles dalton in the looks department - they share that dark aura - I think based on interviews his Bond would be very much cut from the same clothe as Brosnan and Moore. There's a reason he was cast as the sexy, handsome hobbit who got the girl (kinda).
Good answer! The reason I ask is to see if I can model myself on some qualities of the character that are desired. To the be the best of the best.
Eyes.
At this stage thinking outside of the box is part of the process. Many successful singers have become very successful actors and actresses, some even Oscar winners.
I personally wouldn't want him as Bond at all, but that's just me.
Obviously we can only wait and see. My instinct is he’s not the guy (but I could be wrong). But as I said it depends on what they want from their Bond. Regardless of what each actor naturally brought, Craig was gritty (not entirely sure where grumpy comes from - I’d say he’s one of the more humorous Bonds) and abrasive because that’s what they wanted, as was Brosnan being smooth and debonaire.
