Youtube is reporting the budget of Ridley Scott's gladiator 2 has hit 310 million. With the boxoffice being the way it is, are we looking at yet another major financial flop, or could we see a Top Gun: Maverick style belated success story to top off a fantastic career?

That's a tremendous budget for Fighter 2! With the current capriciousness of the box office, it's unquestionably a hazardous move. In any case, Ridley Scott may be a amazing chief, and in case the film conveys in terms of story, visuals, and exhibitions, it seem reverberate well with gatherings of people. Best Weapon:
Nonconformist appeared that there's a market for well-made spin-offs, indeed a long time after the initial. On the off chance that Fighter 2 can capture that same enchantment and sentimentality whereas pulling in unused watchers, it might fair drag off a shocking victory. Fingers crossed for another epic from Scott!

Bad boys 4 headed for huge 52 million opening weekend. Is this the first sign that the boxoffice is beginning to turn around with deadpool and Gladiator 2 still to come?

I don't see GLADIATOR II being much of a success without Russell Crowe. That sequel script (by Nick Cave) focusing on Maximus in the afterlife, as insane as it was, had stronger commercial potential.

Are you forgetting about Paul Mescal? He's arguably more popular with the tiktok generation than Russell crowe.

I think it’s rare that the lead actor can push a film without that financial potential into that realm. Look at Fall Guy’s underperformance recently - a big reason people thought it would be a bigger hit is because of Gosling coming straight off of Barbie/his star recognition. Plenty of stars are in commercial failures too whether the film is good or not.

It’s hard to say with Gladiator 2. I’m not sure if there’s much nostalgia for the first film in the same way there was with Top Gun (and I suppose a big part of that is because of that Gen Z/young Millennial fascination with 80s movie culture etc). At the same time it could well be a cool film and do better than expected after some word of mouth.
