Just finished another complete marathon of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I saw most of it on Disney +, except the episodes I had to find elsewhere. Strangely enough, Disney wants to add this juicy comedy show to its list, but thinks some episodes too juicy for its audience. Really, Disney? Anyway, IASIP is one of the best TV shows ever, if you ask me.

    I agree.

I recently started re-watching Alias, starring Jennifer Garner, and I’m reminded of just how captivating the show is. The blend of espionage and the personal struggles of a spy makes for such an engaging and entertaining experience.

I had forgotten that Roger Moore appears in one of the episodes. I’m currently in season one; the episodes are detailed and lengthy but still easy to follow. If you enjoy shows with a strong female lead reminiscent of a James Bond character, I highly recommend giving Alias a watch!

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft (2024)

I've been eagerly waiting for a new Lara Croft adventure for what feels like ages. Having played every Tomb Raider game since Angel of Darkness right up to the latest trilogy, I can confidently say I've loved them all. Even the movie adaptations were solid, enjoyable entries in the franchise. The most recent trilogy introduced a fresh perspective on Lara and the world of tomb raiding. Sure, some fans were critical of the changes, particularly around Lara's portrayal, saying she appeared weaker or whined too much. But I find that critique pretty shallow. The evolution of Lara's character was necessary-it allowed for a deeper exploration of her origins, while still delivering the action-packed adventure and exploration we expect. The franchise's ability to evolve and survive over time has always fascinated me, and that's one of the reasons I was so excited for the new Tomb Raider TV series.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft quickly became one of my favorite shows this year. Visually, it's stunning. The style strikes a perfect balance between modern visuals and a nostalgic nod to the old anime shows. The action sequences are top-notch, and while some of the voice acting wasn't as strong as others, the overall performances were solid.

The storyline borrows heavily from the last trilogy's format, so some elements feel familiar, but that's not a bad thing-it was a smart choice. There are also subtle references to the older games, which felt like a nice way to tie the rebooted trilogy to the original series. That said, I wish they had incorporated more from Underworld and Legend, especially when it comes to Lara's mom, whose storyline played a significant role in those games. Although her mom's story differed slightly from the one in the trilogy, which made things a bit confusing even for long-time fans, it wasn't a major issue overall but her absence in the show felt like a missed opportunity.

Overall, it's a well-crafted show, and I really enjoyed it. However, if you haven't played the last trilogy, you might find yourself a bit confused at times, so I'd definitely recommend checking out those games first.

As for all the endless debates about Lara's look-whether it's her appearance in the trilogy or in this series-seriously, it's fiction! It's baffling that people are so hung up on this. She's a video game character, not a real person. So, let's just enjoy the adventure.

I started one earlier this year and forgot to continue. I've missed the last two seasons, I believe, so I really need to start and complete it again soon. Amazing show.
