I've been working my way through the series and Voyage Home will always be my favorite Trek film.

    1. Voyage Home
    2. Wrath of Khan
    3. Search for Spock
    4. Undiscovered Country
    5. Final Frontier
    6. The Motion Picture

Voyage Home is fun though I have always gravitated to the more serious films and episodes.

    TMP
    WOK
    TSFS
    UC
    FF
    VH

The bar is so high with the first 6 ST movies the films lower down the ranking are still great IMO.

I am a big fan of Undiscovered Country, it’s my #2 of the original cast, but it doesn’t quite nail its full potential. As with so many films, budget restrictions had their effect; a much more epic space battle at the end would have helped.

To me, 1,2,3,4,&6 are all great... 5 is just entertaining.

Agreed, I enjoy them all a lot. Even 5, though it's a distant last place, is plenty of fun in its own right to me. The scene when they all meet "God" is a series highlight IMO.

My rank would be this but I just note that I enjoy all these movies.

    1. The Voyage Home
    2. The Wrath of Khan
    3. The Search For Spock
    4. The Final Frontier
    5. The Motion Picture
    6. The Undiscovered Country.

The past week has been tough, I think I have watched Star Trek 3 The Search for Spock 3 or 4 times, this film has helped me a lot.

Shatner is the greatest, Kirk is the greatest.

STAR TREK III: Stealing the Enterprise 2.0 (Remastered to 4K/48fps HD)

    Peak cinema.

Love this actress, she’s a perfect fit for any Trek series.

As long as her character is far removed from the She Hulk debacle, I will give her the benefit of the doubt as I have read she is very good in other shows.

I thought SHE-HULK was a fun lark of a show, but ORPHAN BLACK is the show she’s best known for and it made better use of her talent there. She could give Brent Spiner a run for his money when it comes to playing multiple characters in a single scene.

I never watched Orphan Black though watched a few scenes on YouTube, she certainly has range.

Watching Star Trek The Search for Spock again, god I love this film I find it inspiring.

I have probably watched the Stealing Enterprise scene over a thousand times since I first watched it 40 years ago, and it just gets better as time passes.

    Vulcan in 4K is amazing.
  • @Fire_and_Ice_Returns It was a take on Let That Be Your Last Battlefield from the original series with the two men they saved from another ship. Argued all the time, one of them got control of the Enterprise through thought waves and Shatner threatened to self-destruct the ship if control wasn't handed back to him. It's one of my favorite episodes of the entire series.

Search for Spock is always going to be lame because it's right inbetween acclaimed titles in Wrath of Khan and The Voyage Home. It's an oddity in the movies of the original series crew that just appears, or is, out of place. Kirk's son gets killed by Vulcans yet in a release or two after he's holding a party / celebrating with them by the end of The Final Frontier. Always prefer the original cast and episodes over say TNG, Deep Space Nine etc.

I have always preferred ST3 to ST4, The Voyage Home is good, I prefer Star Trek to be more high concept and dramatic.

I watch ST5 more than ST4 simply because I find it more engaging despite its flaws.

I resumed watching STD season 5, episode 7 is actually good setting up things well for the remaining episodes. Season 5 is big improvement on 3 and 4.

Edited: This was licensed by Paramount, I think this is canon (it is canon to me for sure) and when you see the elements and details wow there is a lot going on here from multiple sources within Star Trek.

I thought that was weird and creepy. The deepfakery just pulls me out entirely. I think OTOY was better off with their shorter and more cryptic videos, like with Spock standing over Kirk’s grave site as the Enterprise saucer gets excavated.

I loved it, my eyes welled up very powerful. As a huge fan of 2001 and Arthur c Clarkes work I appreciate what was done here.

That Unification video was fantastic. Deepfake was slightly janky in places but you can tell five years from now it's going to be seamless.

There was a lot of care put into Unification, when you see the credits and who worked on it it no surprise how good it is.

The technology is getting better, its not far off being totally convincing.
