Also, for what it’s worth, the Craig films are available on DolbyVision/HDR for Apple TV. This is not included with in Prime. I think only a few films actually have DV/HDR on that platform.

Made some pictures from ''Dutch'' steelbooks include LE of DR No.

As Warner present days doing a lot more sadley Dutch is credit as second / starting in French (Exept LE who start in Dutch) and that ugley for all ages in French (Whyle movie's are for 12+), that mean you can find same releases in France too (Besides The Netherlands and Belgium), but information about extra's is French & English. My first thaught that there indeed using earlier BD's (Means English, Dutch, French, German subs minimal)

I would like it if they released a new copy of No Time To Die with all the deleted material they shot, like the Cuba Chase through the port, the extended chase in the Norwegian Forest and the additional scenes with Safin to finish off the 60th celebration. Why did they do this for Casino Royale and then abruptly stop giving us extended and deleted scenes?

There was supposed to be a collectors edition for QOS, which presumably would have had the deleted sections of the film. Forster even said he had recorded a commentary track for it. But then MGM went bankrupt and those plans just fell by the wayside.

I would be interested in Collectors editions for all the Craig films that include the additional scenes. Perhaps with Amazons financial stability they can do a re-release as we wait for Bond 26.

I'd love for those plans to be picked back up one day. I'd kill to listen to the commentary and see any and all deleted scenes from QOS.

Stunning Prime deal for 24 film blu ray box set at $53!!

    Just picked mine up.

Are these the same high quality Blu Ray remasters from the 50th anniversary??

Outside of Casino Royale, which got a couple of reissues, there's only one Blu-ray version for each of the titles, using the Lowry Digital restorations.
A few titles 80s-90s titles used an early digital transfer which had too much noise. So, they liberally applied some DNR on it, which also removed grain and made the movies look quite waxy. GoldenEye would really benefit from being redone.

Right. Because of budget they only
remastered the films in 4K up to LALD and MR, because they thought they deserved more cleanup than the more relatively recent films.

This is especially noticeable when watching the 2015 4K remasters online, which restored a lot of the grain missing in those films and now have a more filmic appearance.

What do you think went into the decision to included deleted and extended scenes in Casino Royale but not for the rest of the Craig films? There are a few scenes which appear to have been edited from No Time to Die, Quantum of Solace and Spectre that could be included in special editions. I wonder if EON could be petitioned to release some of these, I for one would be willing to purchase access to them.

I guess it's just a sign of changing times perhaps, with more people moving to streaming and physical media not being as popular as it once was? I honestly can't understand it myself. Big missed opportunity by them. Hell, we haven't even gotten the rest of the pre-Craig films on 4K yet. They either have some really, really big plans in store (I doubt it) or they just don't care anymore.

It’s confusing and depressing we haven’t seen any classic content on physical 4K, or even any updated box sets with NTTD. All I can hope at this point is they are waiting until closer to B26 to drum up hype or something.

It certainly seems like a missed opportunity. Would be nice to see that kind of release in the waiting period for Bond 26. Maybe they will tie in 4K releases or a special edition of NTTD with the upcoming Amazon series.

I thought the end of the Craig era/the anniversary would've been the best time but they clearly didn't agree. I hope you're right and we get an influx of new stuff come the new era.

    The intersection of:
    - the end of a Bond actor’s run
    - a major anniversary
    - a large technological shift to 4K/UHD

….. will not happen again for a VERY long time. I was 100% convinced we would’ve seen that box set.

I also wonder what’s up with MGM’s 4K catalog. They release their new films only on blu-ray. Only NTTD and CREED III actually came out in 4K discs. Any of their older catalog films on 4K seem to be handled by Kino Lober.
  • I think physical media just isn't selling near as much these days. Back when Bluray came out streaming didn't exist really.

By the time B26 happens not only will 4K and blu-ray players be obsolete, so will televisions.
All content will be streamed on phones.
I shouldn't joke like that and jinx it. :D
I am disappointed we didn't get a new box set with NTTD.
I don't really care for many of the Lowery transfers that have been the norm since 2006. Updated transfers for 4K might've been great.

There’s the newer 2015 4K transfers. Of course, they aren’t on disc.

I’m convinced 4K is going to be the last physical media. I just hope most great films make the jump in time.

Thanks for linking to that @MakeshiftPython.

I haven't noticed a major fall off in the quality of DVD/Blu-Ray releases myself. But then again, most of my purchases these days tend to be of older "classic" titles that are released by Criterion, Kino Lorber, etc.

Disney have already announced they will no longer release their titles on DVD and Blu-ray in Australia. Only a matter of time before the other studios follow suit.
  • Does anyone own the Amazon released 23 film blu ray box set including Everything or Nothing Doc? . Is it worth purchasing? I was going to upgrade to 4k but not sure it's worth it now.

So look how this TND event is being promoted as "4K Restoration"... I wonder who did the restoration and what other films have they restored? Is 4K set finally coming???

Assuming we’re still a long way away from Bond 26, anytime from now until then is the perfect time to start dropping the physical 4Ks (they HAVE to come someday, right?). I wouldn’t even mind buying them individually if that’s what it takes; I assume at most we’d only be getting actor collection sets, given how expensive a full box would be for 4Ks.

My assumption now is that when BOND 26 comes out that’s when they finally release 1-20 on 4K discs. I base that off the fact of Eon reissuing home media releases every time a new film comes out. The first set of 4K discs for Craig’s first four films came out on July 2020. Had NTTD came out as originally scheduled on April of that year, the home video release of that film would have likely been a part of that set as well.

Given that the films seem to be on a hiatus, we’ll probably have to wait for awhile, probably won’t see them until 2027.

In 2027 there will be no physical media. It would be foolish to wait so long.
