Not a Moore Bond fan, but very much liked the actor. I respect that he didn't pull an SC and attempt a return to the role. Of all the Bond actors, he's always seemed to me he would have been the most approachable.

I noticed Gold was on Amazon Prime, so have watched that for the first time, as there are a lot of Bond alimni who worked on the film.

It’s a weird one. Rog was good as was the cast and the best parts by far were when they were down in the mines, and the finale was genuinely riveting. But everything else was quite bloated and boring. I felt it really could’ve been trimmed down in the script.

Also tonally its a bit all over the place.

(Also, the transfer of the film on AP was really poor).

Yes I was toying with watching that again when I saw it on the list, but I do remember it being very boring as well.
I did watch the trailer though and now the theme tune is stuck in my mind even days later! :D

Does anyone know what year this interview was filmed?

My guess would be 1975, just purely based on Roger's face! He looks sort of between his GG and TSWLM versions of himself :D Maybe slightly more GGish, but filled out a little

That is roughly my guess as well. The background makes me think if this could have been on filmed set of TSWLM, but I'm not sure. I'm just wondering about the year to see if I can find the full interview.

I do wish for the next James Bond, we could have somebody as charming as Roger Moore.

When i read the article on MI6 about Sir Roger Moore's resting place had been desecrated! It made me feel sick to my stomach and so angry.

I sincerely hope they can somehow capture the scumbags who did it. Their is no reason for this sort of behaviour. I hope the family are able to re-establish how the grave was and to protect it somehow? Not that you should have to do this.

My Life As Roger Moore - a BBC rogumentary about the life of our favourite megastar coming later this year.

It takes viewers back to a golden age of cinema, tracing Moore’s unlikely rise from a young knitwear model to an era-defining icon, while showing how Moore refined his persona as a debonair, seasoned man-about-town, and finally won his breakthrough role as Bond. Beyond Bond, the documentary explores Moore’s life as an A-List star, friends with the Sinatra family, as well as Tony Curtis, Elizabeth Taylor and countless other Hollywood legends.

This is being shown on Christmas night on BBC2 - I think it’s been a few years since we’ve had anything Bond-related on TV on Christmas Day https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2024/52/from-roger-moore-with-love

Not quite sure why David Williams is in this, but otherwise it looks interesting.

He has a tendency to push himself into anything Bond-related, when the opportunity arises. The doc looks excellent though - cannot wait for this!

Hmm, odd. Really not a fan of that guy to be honest.

But yeah, doc looks cool. Not usually my thing but I'll give it a watch.

David Walliams gives me a bad vibe- fairly insensitive comments about his marraiges as well.

By the way, I'd be shocked if that wasn't Steve Coogan doing the Roger impression in the trailer. It sounds like his impression...

Yeah I’d say definitely Coogan, not hugely sure if I want that all the way through but I’ll live with it.

I’ve seen Walliams at a few events over the years and I’ve always got the impression that he’s an asshole. I was in a queue at one of the 60th anniversary events at the BFI and he literally shoved me out of the way to get past and skip the queue. He spent the night sitting in front of me, looking around to see if anyone was noticing him.

Yeah, that sounds like Coogan. A bit much if it's a thing all throughout, but I won't mind his voiceover to pop up here and there. Obviously, I had to watch this (again) since Coogan was mentioned.

Unfortunately, I couldn't watch this. I'm not residing in the UK. Is there any possible way I can watch this documentary?
