Unless they have already considered pulling together bits and pieces of Fleming's novels as yet unused.
As for Star Wars it might be wise to pause, but Disney+ needs content and so I think we shall see a steady stream (pardon the pun) of SW content coming up shortly. I hope that more attention is paid to the writing and the plots. Time to really deliver a banger.
The problem is that Disney wants to create a 'Disney Star Wars' and something about that doesn't always pay off. Star Wars works best for me when it tries to tell a good story first and deliver family-friendly vibes second, not the other way around.
Where’s the rest of the cast?

For all of the flaws of both EON and IFP creatively at times, at least they can announce a project and not drop it. We are generally lucky in that regard. Even Rogue Squadron had a release date.
From @DanielRPK on Twitter. Once again, I can't comment on his track record. The following is from Reddit.
But I think we all suspected this was the case immediately after Love and Thunder hit cinemas. His light work on Mando wasn't especially encouraging either (he made it canon in live-action that Stormtroopers have unbelievably pathetic accuracy to the extent they can't shoot a tin on the ground just a few metres in front of them). Also, it's worse than you think. Apparently when he was working with Natalie Portman on Love and Thunder, he told her that his next major project was going to be a Star Wars film and asked her if she ever wanted to be in a Star Wars movie. He either had no idea or had forgotten that she was Padmè in the prequels. These are the people who Disney is letting make their films, or at least they were until now.
Lucasfilm tends to axe projects once a director finds him or herself in the spotlight after a notable disappointment.
Colin Trevorrow (episode 9) got dumped after The Book of Henry. Patty Jenkins (Rogue Squadron) got dumped after the disastrous WW84. Taika was on life-support after the Thor 4 blunder. Rian Johnston's alleged promised trilogy is more than likely never going to happen after TLJ.
And I completely forgot the GoT idiots had their promised Star Wars project canned after the fallout of that show's downfall as well. They even rushed out the ending in order to free themselves up for the Star Wars gig. Whoopsie.
So no surprise with the Taika project news if this leak/rumour is true. Given his sense of humour, I think he'd be a better fit for a Star Wars Robot Chicken sketch or something.
It's scary to think Kathleen Kennedy's contract could be renewed. At least EON and IFP are honest about getting their fanbases excited about projects with their focus.
Hope he sticks around!
I bought all Zahn's SW books about eight years ago (and the newer ones as soon as they came out.) I went to bookdepository.co.uk for them; it no longer exists since Amazon absorbed it. Blackwell's seems to be selling the books too:

By the way: certainly worth the money! Excellent books.
If i recall correctly, last year there were rumors that Dave Filoni was going to direct a loose adaptation of the first book, Heir to the Empire.
They've been hinting at that for some time. I wouldn't mind provided they actually develop it well. If it's just a case of title-grabbing, I'd rather they didn't adapt the books. A "loose adaptation" already screams trouble.
Yeah, it definitely would piss some fans, especially Legends purists off.
You have a Kindle? I got all of them on there. But I'm an American so...not sure how it works South of the border.
Depends on whether or not they had Jar Jar.
Will Disney and Lucasfilm cancel this too? If they made every project they've announced, there would be as many Star Wars movies as there are James Bond movies.

Is Patty Jenkins and Rogue Squadron about to become the Star Wars equivalent of Tim Burton and Superman Lives?
I’m wondering that myself! Maybe they’ll do what they did in the original Lego movie.
Yeah, it's like the writers didn't know how to write Rey and they just botchered her character as a whole, but i don't blame it on Daisy as she did her best with what she was given.
Another character that i feel got wasted was Hux, on TFA he was this fearsome genocidal dictator...
And then on TROS...
That's why you TRULY plan certain character twists in advance. JJ Abrams knows how to write a great beginning, but not so much of an ending. As we've talked before, Star Wars Episode 9 seemed doomed from the start. Colin Trevorrow just being hired based on two science fiction movies alone. And only because one of them became the highest grossing non-James Cameron film. Carrie Fisher dying certainly didn't help either. I could go on and on, (and I'm someone who likes all five of the Disney Star Wars movies so far), but there is a lot of poor planning that hurt what could have been great.
As for a long term writer for Star Wars, remember Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3) was supposed to help guide the Sequel Trilogy (but was kicked off for not finishing things in time). That may have hurt them, as he uses Star Wars as a perfect story example in his teachings. So if Simon Kinberg can stick around, we may have some truly connected stories.
Also, a reminder of what Disney/Lucasfilm has announced, and where the project is now.

Interesting times ahead. They have killed the golden goose if one believes the box office returns.
Apparently, Lucas wrote some sequel trilogy outlines to increase Lucasfilm’s selling price. Bob Iger said they would take a look at them. Lucas sold Lucasfilm for its price partly because he thought that Disney would use his storylines. They generally didn’t, as they wanted a “fresh” approach. Lucas felt betrayed, saying he felt lied to. He ended up not hiding his true (hurt) feelings when he joined the TFA story meetings. Same when he saw the final TFA movie. Saying there’s nothing new. He called Disney “white slavers” to Charlie Rose, and got some backlash for it. His wife made him call Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy to apologize. Maybe even to JJ Abrams too. So in retrospect, it’s a mixed bag as to his story ideas not being used. He said that the fans would have hated the sequel trilogy, if he was in charge. Namely for the extreme use of Midi-Chlorians and their origins. He liked Rogue One and TLJ, for being different. Luke being a recluse in TLJ was a Lucas idea. So even if Lucas was around, he felt he would be criticized no matter what he did. So to quote Yoda in TLJ: “The greatest teacher, failure is.” Like Jedi, creative people with these movies in particular, are always learning. The Force is arguably within us all.
