As bad as Richard Donner's firing was, losing Marlon Brando as Jor-El in Superman 2 was just as bad. Not that Susannah York was bad in any way, but you know that more care went into the emotional messages with Donner. And even Brando was just doing it for the paycheck, he is still great to watch. In particular in the first Fortress of Solitude scene.
I hope my Superman and Supergirl screenplays can be this great. If they get made of course! You'll see many Superman/Girl characters that haven't been done yet. In particular villains!
