I miss Maurice Binder. I think it would be refreshing to have a new title sequence omit the CGI and go old school. Would Daniel Klainman be up for it?

I've always been obsessed with picture quality and colors. Last weekend my fiancee and I went to a screening of WHITE CHRISTMAS, which looked amazing and vibrant in the cinema. Once I got home I immediately popped in my Blu-ray for comparison and went thru my TV picture setting options to determine which looked most true to the mage on the screen.
On my PHILIPS televison the "standard" setting actually wass the closest rather than "sports" or "movies".
o that's what I'm watching Bond on now.
Maryam d'Abo's birthday is coming up next week , so this viewing is in her honor.

Saunders is pretty funny here. So uptight.

I really want the next Bond to have a classic look like Tim does here. That would put a huge smile on my face. Dalton looks great in the black dinner suit.

A ghetto blaster! That line got a huge laugh in the cinema.

Another of my favorite scenes- the Aston Martin chase.

Bond drinks the entire martini in one sip. I did that the day I turned 21. Two of them in fact as I soon realized the bartender had made the first with gin rather than vodka. I had to do the whole thing over again and emphasize a VODKA martini..........shaken not stirred.
The second time he got it right.

I love the Koskov/Bond scene in the plane.

    The jailbreak sequence.
I never really noticed before that the two jailguards are pretty damned old. Only Ken Sharrock gives Bond a decent fight. Great scene, though.

This SE DVD might actually be too saturated, especially in the desert scenes.
What I wouldn't give to see a clean 35mm print of this one the big screen again.

I really love the final act of this one, even though that doesn't seem to be a popular opinion.

Excellent write ups gentlemen, of my favourite Bond, I'm thinking of watching one of Tim's over the holidays alongside my annual OHMSS viewing!

I love that final shootout with Whitaker, it's clever and thrilling, and Whitakers death is cool! Don't know why a lot of people dislike it! It reminds me of the old days, when after the big action climax, a villain comes back for a final reel showdown!

I love it too. "Sorry Bond, but your pop gun is no match for the latest body armour..!"

OK, free afternoon! So Bond watch it is, and am choosing one of Tim's, which I dont think I've done in a comments thread, here goes then..

    LICENCE TO KILL (1989)
Great gunbarrel opener. I am not too fond of Michael Kamens' score, but he nails it here!

Bond and Leiter squashed into the back of a wedding car, who hasn't been in that situation? 😅

Our villain, Sanchez, Davi looks terrifying!
The whipping scene was cut in the showing I saw!

I adore this theme song from Gadys Knight, a great choice.
Think Binders titles are better than TLD! Love the moment with his own credit!

You just know Killifer is not all he seems! Greg Beam from QOS is a similar character!

Lovely moment, Bond refusing Dellas garter. Not many got the reference to Tracy!
