Start by listing your favourite Bond movie, then list your favourite non-Bond spy films & indicate whether you like them not nearly as much as, almost as much as, as much as, or more than your Bond pick.

My Favourite Bond: License To Kill (this week, sometimes it's The Living Daylights ).

The International. Almost as much, really close, this is a fine, fine flick.
Mission: Impossible Fallout. Almost as much. But Cruise cannot beat Dalton in my book.
The Accidental Spy. Not nearly as much, but Chan's first foray into the spy world is completely entertaining.
The Protege. Almost as much. Leave it to Martin Campbell to direct a non-Bond spy flick that freaked me this much.
November Man. Almost as much. So Bond-y... and brutal...

Wanna play?

Hmm!, tricky one. I like other Spy movies, but hard to beat my favourite Bond movie
    On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
The Ipcress File- very good but not as much as Bond. Great lead character in Caines Harry Palmer
Three Days of the Condor- Excellent spy thriller, gripping and exciting, terrific lead in Robert Redfords Condor!
The Quiller Memorandum- not as much, good scenes and enjoyable lead in George Segals Quiller, but a little slow!
The Man from Uncle- one of the few who enjoyed this big screen reboot, but Cavills Solo is a bit bland, compared to the smoothRobert Vaughan. Don't see him as Bond either!
There are a few other spy films I like, but I kept it short

Fave Bond film hmm...maybe FRWL? This one is immaculate. Other faves would be TB, LALD, LTK, TND and CR.

Haven't seen too many non-Bond spy movies TBH.

Where Eagles Dare - can I include this? Eagles is seriously good - I want more Bond films like this
True Lies - classic Arnie action
Austin Powers/The Spy Who Shagged Me - Love both equally
The Russia House - Haven't seen this is years but I know it's good
The Tuxedo - great one with Jackie Chan and a Bondian Jason Isaacs

I enjoyed the Bourne/MI films enough but after a couple of watches each I feel I don't need to see them again.

Everything here pales in comparison to FRWL though, but Eagles is damn close.

My favourite Bond film is either The Living Daylights or Licence to Kill.

Outside this franchise, I'd say my top 5 spy films would be:

    - The Lives of Others (aka Das Leben der Anderen): one of the very best films I've ever seen. It even actually managed to make me cry.

I think it won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language film.

    - La Femme Nikita (aka Nikita): superb female assassin thriller by Luc Besson, with a phenomenal Éric Serra score. Co-stars a fantastic Tchécky Karyo (Mishkin in GE) as well.

    - The Conformist (aka Il conformista): conformism is torn apart here in this gorgeously shot (by the legendary Vittorio Storaro) tale of a spineless fascist sent to assassinate an ex-professor of his.

    - The Spy Who Came in from the Cold: Richard Burton in top form, and including a supporting role for Bernard Lee.

    - The Hunt for Red October: well we all know this one, and rightfully so. Tension-filled submarine-centered spy thriller with our very own Sir Sean. Also co-starring an often unmentioned but excellent Stellan Skarsgård.

Honourable mentions would go to Where Eagles Dare, The Russia House, Munich, Atomic Blonde and the Jean Dujardin OSS 117 series.

Edit: added some trailer just for fun.

There are some none Bond movies that i see on same level as Bond movie based on rank number and count of views. Only ''Spy'' movie i can think about is Mission Impossible 2. Twine and Mi2 are two movies i have seen in 2000 in the cinema and be my first two and moost expensive dvd's. And more then 10 views.

I must say The Professionals Season 1 so far has moost Bond style and some actors in it ( Walter Gotell, Geoffrey Palmer) and Martin Campbell direct 5 episodes over 3 Seasons. Episode 2.4 was first episode directed by Campbell. Funny enough this episode was under 50 minutes and be one of those that should have been in 2 parts. Also i notice re-using inside of car from earlier scene for later scene. Budget mabey, because second season has only 10 episodes and Campbell also direct 2.8. Last episode i seen on this moment is 2.6 with again a cameo of Art Malik as Doctor 9 years before TLD. In 2.2 he also playing a doctor.

That one's actually a lot of fun. Jason could have actually played Bond well, I think....

I like spy films. But really...are Bond movies "spy films"? Contrary to conventional wisdom, I don't think he is a spy. The guys in Tinker Tailor... and other works by John Le Carré are spies. So are probably the Mossad agents in Munich and some others, but Bond? The British agent that all his nemeses (is that the correct Latin plural of nemesis?) know by name, his looks, drink preferences and requirements of a hotel room?

Well, he started out as a spy....

It was a fun film, seen it a couple of times.

Jason Isaacs would've been perfect for the role. He was great in Awake - pity it only lasted for one season because it was a decent show.
