Great write ups, @Mathis1 and @CommanderRoss. Wonderful stuff.
Just go tback from my honeymoon and I'm watching LIVE AND LET DIE in honor of the baby alligator I held this week. We took an airboat tour thru alligator swamp terrain, and this film popped into my head.

Title sequence. possibly my favorite Binder sequence.
The M scene. I sure do like Roger Moore's hair.

Nice write-up you made here as well! I did a similar tour ages ago when my grandmother still lived in Florida. It's a great way to see the swamps indeed, and what else of a film to connect to these experiences, well done!

I love the gunbarrel here. very effective. And Chris Cornell over those amazing titles. I remember beeing blown away in the cinema. good memories!

Me too! I remember getting shivers down my spine at how good the titles were. I remember thinking, "This Bond is going to be Great!"

    NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN

Considering Eon's retirement this film feels appropriate tonight to launch the new Eon-less era.

I love the health spa scenes.
Herbal enema. This reminds me I'm turning 50 in less than two months. I think I should adopt the Connery in NSNA look for my new decade. :D

Bond working out. I love this!

Back for the climax. I do like the battle in the cave. Nice to see Felix in action.

😂😂 Good choice mate, considering the latest news! Personally I was gonna go classic, at the weekend hopefully. Maybe my man Dalton, don't think I've ever done TLD!!

I just watched TLD as part of my "alternative slate of SUPER BOWL programming." As always, I'm impressed with just how Dalton slides into the role like a glove. Given his late casting (Brenda Starr anyone *) - I know there is often discussion about how the script wasn't tailored for him enough, but I think he does a fine job.

Depending on my schedule this weekend, I may pop FRWL or TB into the old bluray player as I need something comforting after this week's news (and not just Bond/EON/Amazon).

    * I do have a "thing" for the lovely Brooke Shields BTW.

Watching YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE now.
I watched the '54 CR yesterday and enjoyed every second.
The sumo wrestling sequence. This time I have the Blu-ray in. TV picture settings adjusted as well, based on my memory of a 35mm print I saw 12 years ago.

I'm really obsessed on TV picture settings and audio sound. I sadly learned last week I've lost most of my hearing. :( I blame a lifetime of watching Bond films with the volume up and all the loud explosions. :D :D 7

Connery is great. Bored with the role or not, he's great.

Charles Gray is excellent. Underrated Bond legend, IMO. Here we go, Connery in an olive green Stacy Keach Mike Hammer trenchcoat. I need another one of those. Actually it looks gray on the blu-ray. Hmm. I may need to visit the Suits of Bond website for confirmation.

    This fight sequence is classic.

Kobe docks. One of favorite scenes. Barry's score makes it so.

Karon Dor's birthday was yesterday, hence my reason for choosing this Bond film. I love the Bond/Helga scene.

I find the Aki's death scene in this film more moving than Bond's, M's or Vesper's from the Craig era. I should be laughing because Connery looks ridiculous in that disguise. That said, I think it's the subtlety in his performance and Akiko's that does it. Barry score helps.

Bond was excited to find oysters on the table. Oh well, so much for that.

    Connery without his toupee.

He also has a giant zit, which I never noticed before.

The volcano set really is amazing. My favorite Ken Adam set, though, is the supertanker.

While the supertankers of TSWLM are great, its' the volcano lair for me. It is so iconic.
Of course, both pale in comparison to the lovely Mie Hama and Akiko Wakabayashi. :x

Mine would be the 'Mondrian' set from MR, jaw dropping!

Time for an impressive, but hard to follow opening chase. Love the car, love the way he disposes of the last Alfa. Tbh if it had been edited a bit less fast, so people could see what was going on immediately instead of the sixth watch, it would be hailed as one of the best chases ever. It's time for quantum of solace.

Does anyone hold a lock of the hair of their loved ones? Vesper is strange.

Again an amazing chase, this time intercut with the horse race. Fantastic film making. Mitchell shoots people in the crowd, level of realism seldom seen in Bond.

Bond killing Mitchell hanging upside down after the fight hanging suspended is just awesome.

And now slate is dead too. Impressive fight again. Not the kind of Hotel Bond likes though. Thankfully here's Camille
