    Bring on GingerBond!

    As far as Hoult goes, he has a lot of range. He'd likely be more like a Craig or Dalton in that regard.

    As far as Hoult goes, he'd be more credible as Jaws than Bond.

    In terms of ability Hoult would be one of my top picks: I can't quite imagine how he would do it but that's kind of what makes it interesting.
    I think Lowden is tremendous but he's always been a bit more of someone who plays everyman characters to me, I struggle to see him as the alpha type. But maybe he could, I'd be open to it.

    Hoult would bring something new, just like DC, I think audiences now expect more than a stereotypical Bond, they want more of a human ellement to the character

    We watched Nosferatu last night and Hoult was excellent; he’s definitely looking less boyish.

    a little boyish charm would be fine for the first movie IMHO, it's inevitable that age will catch up with him and a more mature Hoult will appear for movies 2 and 3 (fingers crossed)

    Lowden pretty much plays an alpha bastard in The Gold. After seeing that, I would have no issue with him as Bond. Hoult is doing great work (he’s excellent in The Order) - I don’t see him as a natural fit for Bond but if EoN had casted him, I’d have assumed they had a direction in mind that worked for him. I can’t say I have the same confidence with Amazon.

    Yes that’s true, I’d forgotten but now you say it I was watching that with half a mind trying to picture him as Bond but it didn’t quite come together for me. But he is good and the right sort of level for the job, I’m not against it.

    I agree about Hoult, Lowden might be alright, although I haven't seen him in anything at all.

    Admittedly, I haven't seen much of Lowden, but he's another one where I just can't see the appeal. He seems like a decent actor and I suppose he looks ok, but he just seems quite mundane and ordinary. I didn't particularly buy him as a hard man gangster in The Gold either. Maybe he would bring something new and interesting to the role, but, on the available evidence, I don't think he's good enough.

    When the new actor is announced it will be very interesting to see the reactions around here; I dare say that they will be mixed.

    That’s the part I’m not looking forward to to be honest. There will be a lot of complaining, maybe even some by me!

    Yes, it's clear there is no one overiding favourite, you can't please all of the Bond fans all of the time.

    I hope Amazon are aware that every October 5 is James Bond day.

    I think we'll get an announcement from Amazon long before October 5, specifically in May. They just paid $1 billion and I think they'll want to move this along.

    As soon as the deal closes, I expect Amazon to at least announce the release date of the next film. Announcing the actor may take a bit more time, and maybe not. They may already have someone in mind, but they can't publicly say so until May.

    Seems like these announcements are low key in this day and age. I don't even remember how Corenswet was revealed as the new Superman. Same with Pattinson as Batman.

    I'm guessing, if this is correct, they'll try and push for a Summer 2027 release.

    I wonder if Amazon gets access to the old Eon scripts and if that might speed things up a little. Eon kept dipping back into its vault.

    It occurs to me that Amazon's "speedy delivery" credo is the exact opposite of the way Eon did business.

    What are people's thoughts on Jack O'Connell.
    (Apologies if mentioned before) I couldn't see his name on the last few pages. He is a little short but then again so was DC.
    I would have said no until I watched him as Paddy Maine in SAS Rogue Hereos, especially series 2. Although it isn't a 'Bondian' character there is definitely a charm, ruthlessness and charisma there that I find interesting.

    Yes, I thought he was quite good. He has a strong screen presence and charisma. I thought the show was pretty awful, but he definitely has something.

    Yeah he's great, fascinating to watch and a proven lead in a movie.
