All right! Lets move back to the films and specifically the film about go to into pre-production. Bond 26 will not have a Broccoli at the helm. Albert and then Barbara and Michael were pretty loyal to England for the home base of operations. This resulted in a Bond family in the production team where key players were often brought back for multiple films.

Would you rather Bond 26 have London has home base OR Bond 26 have a production home in another city?

MR, LTK are two productions that stick out as times when the Bond team set our for a different studio home. MR was France and LTK was Mexico. For the most part Bond stayed put in London.

In the recent Bond and Friends podcast they wondered if we might see the producers head to Canada, New Zealand, the US to get a tax break and have the main production in one of those countries. They also surmised that if the production did head to a different city, likely new talent would be bringing the adventure to life.

Would this change the look, feel of the movie? What would you rather see for Bond 26?

London would be good for the next one.

London is where the tax breaks are, hence so many big Hollywood films still shooting there. I’d be surprised if it went anywhere else.

Yes @mtm but they were mentioning that Georgia has crazy tax breaks, hence Marvel filming quite a bit there. My hometown of Toronto was at one point known as Hollywood of the North. The under valued dollar goes further here. Peter Jackson I believe has created quite a bit of a studio as well in New Zealand.

Sure, but Fantastic Four has only just wrapped in London, and apparently Disney has a ten year lease on Pinewood at the moment (so Bond likely won't be shooting there, but it's not the only studio). i guess you're right about the dollar though, their wise king is trying to Truss their economy as we speak so maybe the dollar will lose even more value by then.

Atlanta Georgia seems to be the new hub for Hollywood everyone is headed there

I think with the US economy being run in such an erratic and unpredictable way we’ll probably see more productions seeing it as less risky to take their money overseas.

lf it is the Russians, it may be an effort to raise currency, for covert operations abroad or for payoffs.

    Time for an OP rewatch!

London has the international appeal, so it'll be London.

Love how there are advantages and disadvantages to both. I think it is likely to remain a London home base, that being said I wouldn't mind if they shot it here in my backyard of Toronto!

I can think of something that has been rather unique, though technically one of these isn't unique as it happened twice. Thought it might be fun to share what we would rather see, consider this a question about Bond 26.

Would you rather a PTS that doesn't feature Bond OR a fight scene in the movie to not feature Bond?

In LALD and TMWTGG Bond is not seen in the PTS. Technically this also happened in FRWL though it really was Sean walking around the gardens. These are rare events, since one hasn't happened since 1974 is it time for a PTS to not feature Bond?

    OR

Would we enjoy seeing a down right wicked fight where Bond is not one of the combatants? This occurred in TLD. We have an Mi6 staff member from the safe house battling Necros. The scene is long, involved and full of fun and delightful action. We haven't seen one of these since 1987, time to have it return?

I was Calvin Dyson's Living Daylights review recently and I think he criticised the Green Four fight as not featuring Bond, and it had never before even struck me as a possible issue someone could have with it before- especially as the point is that Green Four loses. Which is important to build up the danger of Necros.

A PTS without Bond on the other hand, has always struck me as mad - I let FRWL off as the formula hadn't been established then and it was really more of a teaser to the film; plus Bond does appear to be in it (weird that three of the first five Connery films open with fake deaths for 007).

PTS with Bond to me is essential.

I understand the variations with FRWL, LALD, and TMWTGG, I'm fine with those. From here a PTS with Bond to me is essential.

It depends on the PTS and fight in question.

But I’d kinda like to see an opening to a Bond film without Bond that, say, introduces the villain and gives us a sense of anticipation for Bond, and manages to outshine LALD and TMWTGG. I think it can work but it has to have oomph (maybe a good stunt or distinctive premise, and grand enough to get things going). And of course Bond inevitably has to be hinted at and given a great introduction later.

Although I do like the LALD PTS for setting up the three main locations (and Shane Rimmer's dialogue), I think for B26 it will be expected that the Bond actor reveal himself early on, considering such a long wait between films.

Definitely going with a Bond-less fight. A major appeal of the Blayden fight was the choreography - the back and forth, like a dance. Still waiting for that Green Four spin-off too.
